20:25 with a not so high pull up bar


Male/27 years old/5'7/152 lbs


I started CrossFit in October of 2013 and continued on until I did my first Olympic weightlifting meet in May of 2015. Ever since my first weightlifting meet I never went back to strictly CrossFit besides the occasional WOD here and there and the summer of 2017. Fast forward to today where I told myself I'm going to take a break from strictly weightlifting and just do CrossFit.com workouts for 1-2 months just to take a break from the heavy training.


I can say that I really questioned my decision to do these workouts within my first 10 reps hahaha.

Bar basically at grip height; my pull-up bar is now part of my Monster Lite weight rack. Though Rx, this made for a far easier workout than those of you who really had to jump.

92 reps at the 15:00 mark, so close to upper end of the recommended time goal in the WOD tips. Bar was at least 9" above reach, but pretty sure a full foot. Ran at least a mile in search of an adequate pull-up bar before I found one at the third possible location. Did some more push-ups, pull-ups, flipped some tires and more running afterward. Great WOD! Ya'll that did this sub-12:00 are beasts!

Nothing to rant about


WHAT ABOUT THE MOVEMENT

Burpee pull-up - changing orientation with about as much range of motion as possible, upper-body pulling with skill


MAIN DECISION

Single modality or break it into some individual parts?


TECHNIQUE SCALE

Complete as many rounds as possible in 15 minutes of:

6 burpees

8 kipping pull-ups


CONSISTENCY SCALE

Complete as many rounds as possible in 12 minutes of:

6 strict pull-ups

12 strict push-ups


INTENSITY SCALE

3 sets of 20 burpee pull-ups

Rest as needed between sets, record fastest time


INJURY SCALE

Upper body - AMRAP in 15 minutes of: 10 GHD sit-ups, 10 one-arm ring rows

Lower-body - consistency scale

I went back and did the hspu/mu workout from a few days ago. For quality, mixed up the movement scales.
