Assisted Strict pullups with band and those last reps with a little kip, worked on negatives

9:14 as rx’d with all kb snatches unbroken. Breaks between arms. Got metabolically nasty after round 1. Pull-ups: 15/6, 9/6, 9.

Had to shave a couple callouses during the WOD, so I had to dig my callous shaver out of my gym bag and reassemble it! Extreme forearm pain now!

12:43, used 40lb DB. Trying to rehab sore back so stayed fairly light. Last time did this with 45lb in mid 10’s. 108 and humid…ugh.

With 20-lb weight vest, 8:38. 


This is actually 15 seconds faster than my last attempt, without vest, in 2010.  Went unbroken on snatches in 21 and 9, broke the 15 (10-5) for each.  Pull-ups inside for round one (7-7-7), outside for last two rounds (10-5 / 9).  Did this with Ian (17yo), who did 15-12-9 of 16 kg KB snatches and pull-ups in 12:53.  First time for him doing snatches, so this was a pretty dang good job.

Performed "KB" swings with 52.5lbs of plates strapped together, no KBs. Didn't feel confident enough that I wouldn't smack myself trying to do plate snatches

Heavy breather and lots of sweat, jeez. The kettlebell snatch is apparently not conducive to easy breathing in and out haha. Pushups were tough after, but obviously not as difficult as pullups would have been RX, which helped my time quite a bit. Hell of an arm and shoulder workout!
