Stalled out bad, and couldn’t score a BMU rep, until I removed my grips. Note to anyone else: don’t use grips. I realized that too late. Might have to retest.
Hit it again 15 minutes later. No grips this time. Scores 2 more reps (163 reps) with a 7:55 tie break.

Other BBs were set up, but I used the men's scaled weights, and I was the only one to bring a rope hence the sub of plate jumps. Did some DU practice before and after. The 36deg F made the pull-ups and thrusters extra spicy with those cold bars.

the bar muscle ups sucked up 7 minutes. Just slow on those and a few no reps. Thrusters suck like they always do, but able to do them in 2 - 3 sets depending on the weight. Would have been slower at 135 lbs had I not had the break to drive home! Mega Barry Bonds record vibes around this score.
2022 Open - only got to 154 reps by 12 minutes on my first attempt. Redid that weekend and got to 156.

Anyone a little disappointed to see Open repeats from such a short time ago? Maybe I’m bitter as this one has some elements outside my skill set, but I feel like the workouts being comprised for this competition should be fresh each year. Thoughts?

As long as they are a good test of fitness, all good imo. Also, Dave Castro is fond of "short term" repeats, like when he programmed for the main site.
Thanks for the response Luis. I agree on it being a good test of fitness. That being said, seems like a lot of the same movements are the basis of that fitness. Thrusters, dubs, pull up variations, burpees. I think someone could just train these things and score highly in the Open better than someone that follows CF year round.
