Scaling
This workout is moderately heavy and very fast. Pick loads that are challenging but still allow you to complete each set unbroken. If you are unsure of loading, go lighter and go faster.

Intermediate Option:
Complete as many rounds as possible in 5 min. of:
3 deadlifts
7 push presses

♀ 125-lb. deadlift, 55-lb. push press
♂ 185-lb. deadlift, 85-lb. push press

Beginner Option:
Complete as many rounds as possible in 5 min. of:
3 deadlifts
7 push presses

♀ 75-lb. deadlift, 35-lb. push press
♂ 115-lb. deadlift, 45-lb. push press

AMRAP in 5 minutes

3 Dead Lift 215#

7 Pike Push-ups (feet on bench)

6 rds + 3 DL (finished 7th round for good measure)


Only 1 bar and no DBs or KBs so I subbed pike push-ups for push press. I tested 1 round to see how long it would take to deload and load the bar, but it ended up taking way too much time. Legs are still hurting from Manion, so scaled the DL further than expected (was planning on 245#). I haven't been this sore in a long time.

Yes - my legs are still trashed from Manion. My wife thinks I'm old because of the involuntary noises I'm making getting up and down.

Lotta DOMS here too. I find that with a thorough warm-up, I have no pain during the WOD, and my performance (strength, endurance, etc.) does not seem to be impacted, and then a few hours later, the pain comes back.
