CrossFit Games veteran Scott Panchik performs today’s workout of the day, CrossFit Open Workout 12.1:

Complete as many reps as possible in 7 minutes of:
Burpees

At the top of each rep make contact with a target that is 6 inches above your reach.

Scaling:
Seven minutes, a small space, and a target set 6 inches above your reach is all you need to complete today’s workout. This Open workout repeat is a mental grind. Most athletes can perform this workout as prescribed.

I appreciate the touch at the top to keep things legit (as opposed to the hands touching behind the neck). I have always touched a floor joist in my basement, and most can do that or touch an 8' ceiling.

That 6” standard jump above raised hands can be a deal breaker. I like how Scott draws that line to indicate where his bar is above, and also how he uses the chalk on his hands to mark where his hands should hit. Good stuff!

Ob please don’t bring this back to the Open. My least favorite of all time. And that’s including EVERY single open workout. 😂 This one and the 4 min of make it to the next Fran.

I've been doing back to back monthly burpee challenges to raise money and this just totally blew me away. Now I've got to set a goal for this crazy challenge and hope I can get over 75 in 7 min. ( 62 yr old heart attack and cancer survivor )
