*NEW FOR 2026* In-Person Course Overview

The CrossFit Kids Certificate Course is a two-day, hands-on training experience that provides safe, effective, and age-appropriate methods for teaching CrossFit to children and adolescents, ages 3-17. Held at a CrossFit affiliate, the course also covers how to build a CrossFit Kids program at a school or affiliate and gives you a firsthand look at what that environment looks and feels like.

Throughout the course, you will learn how to pair fitness with fun, which is essential to setting a child on the path toward a lifetime of fitness. Affiliate owners, teachers, coaches, and parents all benefit from learning this unique, kid-friendly approach to teaching CrossFit, especially when you can practice it in real time and receive immediate feedback.

Inside the In-Person Course

Through lectures, movement practice, and live coaching sessions, you will learn CrossFit Kids training theory and methods and then immediately apply them in a gym setting alongside your fellow participants.

  • Lecture sessions cover CrossFit Kids training theory, methods, and coaching strategies, with time for questions and discussion with your course instructor.
  • Hands-on movement sessions will put you on the floor, practicing kid-appropriate cueing, corrections, and progressions with peers as your “students.”
  • Live coaching practicums will give you experience running a class segment, receiving direct feedback from your instructor, and observing others coach, so you leave with a clear picture of what works and why.
  • Being inside an affiliate lets you see how a CrossFit Kids program is structured, set up, and run in the real world, giving you a concrete model to take back to your own gym or school.

The CrossFit Kids course is a two-day, in-person training:
Saturday – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday – 8 a.m to 2 p.m.
CEUs: 12

Our next in-person course is happening September 12-13, 2026, at CrossFit Roots in Boulder, CO. Register here now.
