2019 CrossFit Games Event 8
1-rep-max clean
Compare to 250222.
Post heaviest load lifted to comments.
Stimulus and Strategy:
Today's workout is a classic heavy day. Unlike last week's power clean, today's lift can be any variation of the clean that allows you to lift your heaviest load. Look back to your most recent heavy lift to help gauge this effort. Remember, heavy is relative to each individual and their capacity. Newer athletes should focus on technique and lift only as their form allows.

Well, had to prioritize tile work today. After about 3 hours of mixing thin-set mortar and laying tiles I pre-cut yesterday, a number of joints were no way in the mood for heavy lifting. So, I did a light warmup, then a slew of clean progression and clean (SC and PC) reps with an empty BB and 65#, followed by a lot of stretching. Not upset about this since we just did a WOD with heavy cleans and I got the tiles down (grout tomorrow). I will look to add some heavier cleans later this week.
A lot of fantastic work and numbers put up today - well done everyone!
I love seeing you putting functional fitness into practice!

Zone 2 training at its finest! Well, more like Zone 3.
Struggling with heavy today, did a few 125-lbs squat cleans and decided not to push for ORM. Did this instead:
5RFT
20 cal row
5 squat cleans @ 105-lbs

My CF journey these days is less about PRs, if ever it was, & more about working hard & consistently in a way that allows me to (hopefully) lift another day, so: HPC descending ladder @ 65# 10,9,8,7...last rep@ 75#, then ascending @55# 1-10, with just enough pause in between to shake out my wrists & question my choices.
P.S. y'all are beasts in the best way, putting up these big LBs & KGs! 💪
Good work Favo.
Agree about the beasts!
Yesterday's wod also! Great time to the Suspects.
