Stimulus and Strategy:
Today, you'll take on Open Workout 20.2. If you have completed this workout before, check your previous score. This workout consists of short and quick rounds. This means it's easy to come out at a fast pace and burn out too soon. Move at a consistent pace that allows for 1-2 minutes per round in the first half of the workout. Choose dumbbells that allow you to consistently perform 4 quality reps at a time. Scale double-unders to timed attempts or single-unders if needed to finish in less than 30 seconds. If you have done this workout before, tackle the toes-to-bars however you need to in order to improve your score. For all others, shoot to perform the 6 reps done in 1-2 smooth sets every round.

Dad: 6 rounds plus 22 reps 10lb dumbells on thrusters, lying knees to elbows, single unders 30 sec each round. Came close to getting 24 singles a few times.

220102: 13 rds with 75# BB instead of DBs
35s are still the heaviest I have at home but I think I could have hit the same score with 50s as the thrusters almost felt like a mini break. The TTBs actually saved my bacon in matching my last score as they went much smoother than before for sure - the lightbulb didn't really kick on for quickly cycling TTBs until around 2024, only about 18 years after being introduced to them (better late than never). It feels like my endurance and stamina have been dwindling a little and Dubs are still not where they should be (had some good sets but not a single round was UB). I prioritized doing the movements Rx over number of rounds to force DU work. Had I done 2xSUs I would have hit a higher score.

I basically did this yesterday, did CrossFit Mayhem Feb. 2025 compete cycle/open prep workout-
3 rounds:
3 min amrap: 30 double unders 10 toes to bar, Rest 1 min,
3 min amrap: 30 double unders 10 burpee pull-ups,
Rest 1 min.
Total- 435 double unders, 78 toes to bar and 56 burpee pull-ups.
So, I will work on weaknesses today (SHSPU, Pistols, HSW) and do 20.2 tomorrow afternoon!

OMG my performance was so bad I don't even want to post. My head wasn't in it today, spending :30-:60 after each the jump rope just pacing or staring at something. Oh and DUBs only happened in the warm up using the cheap plastic rope. Once the timer started, I'd get ~15 in about :45 and call it. For the last half I switched to just doing high jump singles. I think my body is mad that I spent the rest day ruck/jogging with a 50lb pack for 6km. (Thrusters & T2B as Rx)
