(Had a few miss hits so re-jumped. Probably enough to have gotten 100 reps if I didn't miss. Used a pull-up bar today.

In 2012 I got 92 reps to a tape line at a wall at age 16 and 125lb. This was also my introduction to the Open which I missed the year before because Track season started. #10generalphysicalskills )

No way to set up a target, so I just jumped as high as possible each rep (probably went well over 6" for most).


Never been fast at burpees, but thought I was pacing better than what I did. Mad respect to all who hit 100+ on this one.

I appreciate the touch at the top to keep things legit (as opposed to the hands touching behind the neck). I have always touched a floor joist in my basement, and most can do that or touch an 8' ceiling.

That 6” standard jump above raised hands can be a deal breaker. I like how Scott draws that line to indicate where his bar is above, and also how he uses the chalk on his hands to mark where his hands should hit. Good stuff!

Globo wod: as Rxed. If you don't have a measuring device jump to some sort of target more than a hand length above reach. If you don't have anything to jump to do standard burpees.

I've been doing back to back monthly burpee challenges to raise money and this just totally blew me away. Now I've got to set a goal for this crazy challenge and hope I can get over 75 in 7 min. ( 62 yr old heart attack and cancer survivor )

Champions Club Scaling Notes


RANT

Man, I can't remember a workout being so universally-appreciated for its elegance and so universally-hated for... well, it's 7 minutes of burpees! What's not to hate. Though, if you listen to any of Carl Paoli's videos when this first came out, he talks about how to add skill to the burpee, which makes them much more sustainable. The video is called Skill Transfer of the Burpee, if anyone wants to look it up. 9-minute and come change I think.


WORKOUT THEMES

Something simple and can be done anywhere, also easy to test/retest/judge. Changing orientation, jumping, range of motion, accuracy.


SHORT MEDIUM LONG


LIGHT x


MEDIUM


HEAVY


SPEED SCALE

2 rounds of: 35 burpees for time. Rest as needed between. Record fastest time


STRENGTH SCALE

200 push-ups spread through the entire day.


COORDINATION SCALE

AMRAP in 15 minutes of:

10 push-ups

10 box jumps
