DB Sq. Sn. is probably my biggest weakness… can’t use heavier weight without falling forward….something to work on.
Nice work forcing good technique and getting the practice in. I had several missed reps I had to repeat because I came forward onto the balls of my feet. I'm glad I warmed up really well focusing on hip and shoulder flexibility - it definitely made a difference.
I struggle with any type of overhead dumbbell movement.

Surprisingly not bad. Lower back pretty sore this morning, so was concerned about the deep/awkward squat snatches. Turned out back was fine on these – just had to be a little careful lowering the dumbbell. Did some extra hip/thoracic/shoulder mobility to try to feel more comfortable in the bottom position. Rows were all around 1,100 cals/min, say 1:55 pace. Unbroken push-ups. Rounds were pretty consistently ~2:30.

35# DB is the heaviest I have, but I think it was just the right weight for me at my current stage of proficiency with DB squat snatch. Definitely something to work on. Didn't sprint the rows in order to ensure good technique on the DB work, but I kept them all to 45 sec or less (C2, drag 6). Push-ups were strict and unbroken.
Good work Lincoln!
Thanks! I was on track for 8 at the 9 min mark, but the legs started to fatigue pretty bad and I really wanted to ensure solid technique with the DB.

Globo wod: sub for row is 14 calories assault or echo bike, 200m run, or 12 burpees and 12 SDHP 20/15lb dumbbells or empty barbell. Scale the squat snatches as necessary, as these are much more difficult than barbell snatches or dumbbell power snatches. Make sure you warm up well amd test the weight before starting the WOD. Men, if a 50lb dumbbell is the heaviest available, add 4 squat snatches to the rep count per round if the RXed weight is something you could normally hit. Pushups as Rxed.
I can relate to where you’re coming from. I just took my L2 and one of the things we talked about was having empathy for our athletes as coaches. So many times people see CrossFit and immediately assume they have to be fit. I remember being the 270# girl who walked into a CrossFit box at the urging of a friend, and my life has NEVER been the same. CrossFit changed my life, much like it changed yours. I gained confidence, lost weight, got stronger and was able to to do what I’d thought I’d never do, join the Army. I say all that to say, continue to share your story, be a light, and be an amazing coach. You never know who you or your story may resonate with or impact. Love and light to you❤️

If you are doing a workout with any sort of intention other than checking the box, it's important to understand the choices that are there to me made. For example, on this one you can choose to "game" the rowing portion so you don't burn out for the rest, or you can really get yourself out of your comfort zone. You can keep the push-ups really tight and strict, or you can let the midline slouch a little bit as the rounds go on. You can emphasize the flexibility of the dumbbell snatch, or the weight of the dumbbell snatch. It's really your call, but just know that it's rarely a bad idea to set yourself up for future success. This is not a benchmark, just a random Friday in cold-ass January. Have some intention on this workout today.

Great rant! I definitely made working the DB squat snatch a priority over all the other aspects today.
Sounds like you were better at the end of the workout than you were 18 minutes before. Nice work my man. Also big ups to everyone that can do full dumbbell snatches. I still don't have those or pistols routinely,
