Moving a Clinical Practice into a CrossFit Affiliate

Did you know coach and affiliate owner Adam Neiffer’s gym is home to a physical therapy clinic? Ike Anunciado, a PT out of Fort Vancouver, Washington, sits down with Mike Giardina at the 2022 Games to talk about running his clinic within the walls of CrossFit Fort Vancouver.

Anunciado learned and practiced Counterstrain techniques before working with Neiffer and the CrossFit Fort Vancouver athletes. And when the pandemic caused Anunciado to have to close his clinic, he ultimately found a way to reopen a smaller clinic inside Neiffer’s gym. As part of that process, Anunciato changed his clinical operations from insurance-based to cash-based while also downsizing his staff. Though these changes were tough at first, they had a positive impact on his business, which led to his new goal of building Counterstrain clinics inside other CrossFit affiliates. He believes there is a highly symbiotic relationship between CrossFit workouts, solid nutrition, and his physical therapy technique.
