Step 1: Contact a Gym
Local CrossFit coaches and gym owners want to hear from you and learn about your goals, so please reach out. Ask about their schedule, prices, and classes to learn if CrossFit is a good fit for you.

Step 2: Join A Class
In a typical one-hour CrossFit class, athletes complete modified versions of the same workout together, and the coach will guide you through step-by-step.

Step 3: Learn the Fundamentals
Your gym will help you safely start your CrossFit journey, no matter how fit you are. Coaches teach you the foundational movements and adjust workouts to your fitness level.

Step 4: Commit, Connect, and Crush Your Goals
As you progress, you'll not only improve your fitness but also become a valued member of the CrossFit community. Regular attendance and dedication will help you achieve personal goals and even inspire others. You'll build lasting friendships, cheer each other on, and celebrate milestones together, making CrossFit a place where you belong and thrive.
We help busy Ballard parents, professionals, and beginners build strength for hiking the Cascades, chasing kids, or surviving a long workday without aches. We use small-group strength classes or personal training to help people who've struggled to fit in at other gyms find one to fall in love with. We were known as Twenty Pound Hammer until we renamed ourselves Polaris Strength & Conditioning, in tribute to the local resident orca, to better reflect our welcoming nature.
