“I’m so glad I made that first step,” says Frances Carpenter, reflecting on the transformation she has undergone at CrossFit Inversion in Yorba Linda, California.
Since making a 2016 New Year’s resolution to improve her fitness, Carpenter has lost 130 lb. and attained new levels of health and happiness.
Carpenter is familiar with the fear that often accompanies trying new things, especially when those new things involve slinging barbells with members of the opposite sex. She recalls joining an all-women gym before trying CrossFit because she was too intimidated to work out with men. She eventually overcame her fear and now offers advice to others who want to change but are afraid.
“I feel better,” Frances affirms. “I’ve seen my body change so much, and I’ve seen my health improve.”
