Rogue garage gym setup

In this year’s CrossFit Open, we’ve seen many athletes completing the workouts in their home and garage gyms. The CrossFit affiliate community is unmatched in its supportive and encouraging nature, but sometimes life gets in the way of being able to get into the gym consistently. Having a home gym can help keep you on track with your health and fitness goals when visiting your local affiliate isn’t an option.

Rogue Fitness has everything you need to build a complete home or garage gym, whether you’re looking for something simple or a full setup. Visit roguefitness.com to design and plan your gym using the Zeus Gym Builder. Select your room template, adjust to your dimensions, then drop in your Rogue gear to see a 2D and 3D rendering of your space.

Planning Your Gym: Questions to Ask Yourself

How Much Space Do I Have?

  • Look at your floor layout and note the ceiling height.
  • Will what I need fit in my space? Consider a rack, squat stand, pull-up bar, and barbell.
  • Can I bolt to the floor and walls?
  • Can I safely perform movements?
  • Do I need dedicated storage?
  • Check out Rogue Space Savers for ideas on how to utilize a small space.

What Are the Essentials?

  • What do I need/want?
  • What movements do I want to be able to do? (e.g., I may not want to do muscle-ups at home, but would still like to do pull-ups.)

Quality Barbell and Plates

Rack or Squat Stand

Other Essentials

What Is My Budget and Do I Plan To Expand?

  • How can I maximize my spending? (e.g., Do I need a full set of dumbbells or do I need only what I will commonly use?)
  • Do I plan on adding to my gym over time?

Visit roguefitness.com for all your gear needs and get training — there are no excuses when your gym is just steps away.

Our garage/gym space has a slight grade to it. Obviously a flat surface is ideal. Are there any out of the box solutions for this like graded mats?

Ryan - A lot of work, but I did this to my garage platform and it worked great. Good luck to you - https://youtu.be/pUBWdibCsNE?si=v1kG7CVFhFDYjNiW
