Rest in peace sir. You inspired so many and contributed so much to CF’s goal of forging elite fitness. You will be missed.
Rob was before my time in this space but watching some of these clips are rad!
5 rounds
24 cal row
16 TTB
8 DB bench press with 75 lbs
21:32
weighted heavy dips after but could only manage 25 lbs for 8 reps max.
Rob did so much for CrossFit and for the ethos of working out hard, generally. In the 2009-2011 period, when I first got deep into CrossFit, Rob was putting up cool as hell numbers and making up some crazy workouts. I remember he did a couplet of some huge lower body lift (maybe it was 405 deadlifts or 315 back squats) and ring handstand push ups. Monster shit. It was so cool to see.
The old StrongmanWOD on Hybrid Athletics had some real doozies.
Forever grateful to Rob the forging the path during a real inflection point in the history of this sport. Forever grateful for the imperative to pick up heavy shit often.
Rob was one of the great ones and his work had a profound impact. May his memory be a blessing.
For me, Rob is a classic throwback to the old CF, when it was less refined and more raw and didn’t care what most people thought of it. I posted elsewhere a link to some of Rob’s exploits that tie in well to Spencer’s post. It’s at

When I started CF in 2016-2017, Rob had gone from like top 10 to top 5 in his age range in the region & I remember everyone in the box I was at then calling it "That Orlando Magic" He inspired many people both inside & outside of the CF arena. Rest easy, Rob & my thoughts to all who knew & loved him.
RIP Rob…always an inspiration.
