For time: 21,097-meter row
Post time to comments.
Compare to 201002.
Scaling:
When this event was programmed for the 2013 CrossFit Games, it was divided into two parts: a 2K sprint immediately followed by the remaining 19,097 meters. The event tested sprint ability, endurance, and recovery all in one beautiful display of prolonged agony.
This is not a misprint. Grab a group of friends, pull your rowers alongside each other, and get started. A half-marathon row is no easy feat. If your experience on the rower is limited, consider reducing the distance or choosing one of the options below. Another option is to perform this workout with one or two partners with one person rowing at a time. Share the work until the task is completed.
Intermediate option:
Row as many meters as possible in 60 minutes.
Beginner option:
Row as many meters as possible in 30 minutes.
Take breaks as needed.
Coaching cues:
The best way to stay invested in a half-marathon row is to grab your friends, pull out the rowers, and make it a community event. You might be a bit miserable, but as they say, misery loves company, and accomplishing a feat like this one will have you forgetting the misery and celebrating a monumental win.

Took my first jab at this workout today and let me tell ya…in the TX heat and a hotter garage gym, this was a doozy.
C2 Rower w/ a 7 damper
60 min: 13,243 meters
I had to shake out the legs & arms and stopped at 60 minutes due to slight stiffness in my R knee but I’ll be sure to use today as a future marker on this workout to see how I can improve.
Great work to everyone who attacked it as well as those who put in work to #getbettereveryday! 🤙🏼🇺🇸

Always said I’d never do a half marathon (whether row or run)… yet here we are.
Indeed. Great job!
Great time too, nice!
Nice!
Like Sweet Brown said, ”Ain’t nobody got time for that!” 😆
Props to you rowers out there finishing this. My ass bout to fall off.
Intermediate: 13233m in 60 minutes.
Lol. I *may* have been late for work. Good job; an hour rowing @ that pace is still long enough!
Too funny! Solid work dude!
My butt hurts but my heels are worse. Nice work my man! I should’ve done the same.

I did this back in 2013, in 1:42:41. My back's stiff, in a good way today, after yesterday's work; perhaps a long slow row would have been good for it. But I'm with Lincoln on this one...
Bench press, alternating barbell and dumbbells, 5-10-5-10-3-10-3-10-3-10

Props to all of you who tackled this one, especially working folks doing it midweek.

I like the BP work Jim! I'll have to keep that format in mind.

Good work Favo!

Tried to keep the average below 2:10/500m pace but stood up 3-4 times just to shake it out. Ended up finishing with 2:12/500m pace there abouts.
mentally very difficult between 8,000-5000m remaining
Great job!
Amazing job!
Great job!
lol the feels like temp. is 105
Ha! And a very respectable time. At least, falling off the C2 rower doesn't give you very far to fall!
Very well done!
Nice job!
Great job!
Yeah, this wasn't happening for me today. Did it when last programmed so I knew what was in store for me. Because I did an annual mandatory fitness test yesterday in lieu of that WOD, I decided to do a scaled rendition of 240805 with some rowing incorporated today.

Scaled weight and did step-overs because of the knees. Have a feeling I need to dial things back for a little bit for the joints.
Wow, that's a lot of work in under 30; great job, as always!
Nice work today. How'd the PT test go?
Thanks you guys!
Jim, I maxed out the scores, results posted to yesterday. Not too difficult for my age group (45-49) in my opinion especially if you compare the test to something such as FGB or a Hero WOD, but it was still a good pump.

it's really awesome that mainsite has us consistently leave our comfort zones. Even though I imagined this one to be much harder than it actually was! Luckily I got up 1h earlier than usual today, otherwise this one would have been hard to do in the morning before work.
First time doing this, so I had no idea how hard I could go - went with consistent nose breathing to keep the intensity sustainable.
Great job, and your damper was set very high for that kind of distance! It would not have turned out well for me to do this again right now.
Excellent job on this; I had my damper set similarly, because higher is my default & struggled to keep it barely under 2:00. Nice work!

Globo wod: half marathon row. Now if you have the time and rower go for it, make sure you are equipped with hydration and fuel nearby. If you're time crunched row max distance in 60 or 45 minutes. Sub 1000 calories assault or echo bike, run 10 miles, or road bike 25-30 miles if a rower isnt available. If time crunched max distance/calories in 60 or 45 minutes. Class setting row 45 minutes for time, partner up if short on rowers and other partner runs 400m or 28/25 calories assault or echo bike, switching and working consistently for 45 minutes. Note both distance rowed and ran (cals bike).
I did a 15k row yesterday. Should have waited.
I’m sorry, what’s that now?
