New Sugar Limits Urged to Curb Obesity

Rising rates of obesity have been linked to an increased risk of developing chronic diseases such as diabetes, cancer, and cardiovascular disease. A federal committee working on a revision of U.S. dietary guidelines suggests Americans further limit consumption of added sugar to help address the problem. While the new recommendation does not go far enough toward eliminating added sugars, it is a step in the right direction.
