Anyone know why this map isn't still active? I keep clicking on the "find a physician" box and it's just a blank link...also support NPs getting involved, as a FNP working in primary care and psychiatry there is an abundance of us who would love to be included!

Any updates on allowing nurse practitioners to participate in this? I'm a licensed Adult-Geriatric NP with an L-1 working in a primary care clinic in New Orleans. I've already obtained several Crossfit athletes as patients because they say they wanted someone with my Crossfit experience.... Make room at your table, Crossfit MDs. There's plenty enough work to go around.

What a cool idea! How great is it to have physicians who also understand CrossFit and the benefits associated with it? I love the idea of going to a doctor who practices their own physical wellness rather than just telling others how to (or rather how not to).

I am curious if you're going to extend the network to include mental performance coaching? I have a masters in sports psychology and I'm working to build a practice centered on CrossFit Fitness, both mentally and physically. It looks like many of these comments have health oriented individuals who would love to become part of a network, who may not necessarily have doctorates. Perhaps another network? :-)

This is amazing and something that has taken a tremendous amount of work and effort to put in place. Thank you. And perhaps instead of complaining about what has not been done, or who hasn’t been included, let’s celebrate the progress of CrossFit Health and how far it has come. Let’s keep it going!

I feel everyone is happy to see what has been put together here. Perhaps your perception of what people are posting is a bit off, as I think people are not so much complaining but providing a point of view that would be in the best interest of an athlete.

This is something that should not limit the community to strictly to MD's, DO's, or similar.  There are those of us (Chiropractors, PT's, NP's, etc) who are currently involved with professional sports and are on staff of professional teams (and who have been involved with CrossFit for years) who are very much more experienced and qualified to diagnose and treat an athletic injury.  In that same regard, if an athlete is not able to be treated with conservative care, making the right referral is key for an athlete's recovery.  While a credential of MD or DO does allow for prescription abilities, that does not imply what is best for an athlete.  At the same time I'm not implying that the MD, DO, etc., is not qualified.

Athletes of all skill levels and ability should be looked at in the same manner and degree.  It is a question of what is best for the athlete, and a multi-disciplinary approach is the way to address that.  CrossFit is no different in the treatment of any athletic injury and we look at an athletes recovery in terms of return to play and what needs to be done to get them there.  All physicians, DC, PT, MD, DO, NP, etc. who are qualified to treat the athletic population are the group of doctors who should be on this directory.

Great response, Mike. Please remember to add PAs (Physician Assistants) to your comments. We’re all well qualified to diagnose, treat, and manage patients. And there are a TON of us who love Crossfit.

Look, I get that the most influential medical providers are the MD's but in the long run they have the least ability to directly treat the majority of CrossFit injuries which are musculo-skeletal. We have seen what the medical community has done for those conditions along side the pharmaceutical industry. If Cross Fit really wants to change the Healthcare narrative they have to embrace the practitioners who not only diagnose but treat the issues in an algorithm starting with the most efficacious conservative care and that is PT and DC territory. Good PT's and DC's know when to refer to like minded MD's but the reverse isn't always possible in the Hospital system.

Will CrossFit Inc, as the sole issue of the certification, provide ongoing verification and validation of its internal conditional usage providing a “fair rate of return” valued at....regulatory compliance? As members we’ve met the box’s criteria for on ramp there fore satisfying insurance requirements and payments for services rendered. Would ensuring compliance with local, state and federal regulations for patient privacy and HIPAA be a fair rate of return. Professional standards and conduct over any expediency

My wife and I are doctors, she's an OB Gyn and I'm a surgeon. We took our first L1 5 years ago and atended the MD-L1 last December, both approved the course. How can we be listed?

I would love to see this concept applied to the ever growing scope of advanced practice providers such as nurse practitioners and physician assistants. These providers are assisting with the healthcare of patients in the scope of prescribing, diagnosing and treating patients. As a Crossfitter and primary care nurse practitioner I would love to incorporate more of the CrossFit methodology with my practice.

Me as well! As NPs, we can implement life altering treatment plans, prescribe life changing medications, and in some states practice independently, in other states with physician collaboration, and last but not least, so can practice only while under direct supervision of an MD. However, our patient's outcomes are similar with similar patients! So, being included in the crossfit corner will not "water down" the results AND can only serve the purpose of providing the best care to more people!! Isn't that what we all want?

To my PA peeps, I want to see you included also!

Is there presently any conversation around a role for Advanced Practice Providers, given the increasing roles of PA's, particularly in primary care & orthopedics?

I definitely agree with this! I feel that my physical therapy was WAYYYY better because my PT was a CrossFitter.

Definitely agree! As a student PT as well as a CrossFit coach, I would love to see this opened up as an inter-professional program. Currently, I help out any athletes in our gym with nagging issues, but would love to be able to find a reliable source to send them to when I think it's something more serious that won't blame their lifestyle. Vice versa, because injuries happen in all activity, I think it would be an awesome way to get athletes back to exercising with safe limitations as they want to get their injury healthy but not just sit back for 2 months watching their wellness fall into sickness.

Rest Day!

POOD - POUNDS & METRICS

For time:

3 rounds of:

30 Kettlebell Swing, 1.5/2 pood

30 Wall Ball Shots, 14/20 lb

Row 500 meters

Then:

2 rounds of:

20 Kettlebell Snatches, 1.5/2 pood

20 Box Jumps, 20/24’’

Run 400 meters

Then:

10 Turkish Get-ups, 1.5/2 pood

10 Medicine Ball Clean, 14/20 lb

Ski Erg 300 meters

For me this is the ultimate testimony to CrossFit Poetry.

The WOD is a tribute to the 3 different

measurements/units used in CrossFit, celebrating the multiple variables used in workouts!

First: We have the descending rep scheme, along with the descending rounds.

Second: We start with the easier exercises while increasing difficulty as the rounds and reps are lowered.

Third: Each segment starts with exercises that cleverly celebrate the Pood, the pounds and the metric systems!

The WOD took me 10-15 minutes to come up with, but 1.5 month to Finnish, since I was missing the last lbs exercise to keep the balance between the POOD, POUNDS & METRICS. The MBC was the last piece in the puzzle!

For me this is the epigamia of CrossFit Poetry!

I hope you will appreciate it as much as I enjoy creating it🙂
