Situation: A member makes comments about another athlete’s body, uses inappropriate language, or creates an uncomfortable environment for others. What do you do?

Solution: Address inappropriate behavior immediately and directly. Don’t let comments slide, hoping they’ll stop on their own. Pull the individual aside immediately after class and clearly state that such behavior is unacceptable and damages the inclusive environment you’re trying to create. Establish clear consequences for repeat offenses, and further issues may involve membership being suspended. Follow up with any affected athletes to ensure they feel supported. Document incidents and involve gym management when necessary. Creating a safe space sometimes requires difficult conversations and firm boundaries.

What would you do?
