Welcome to the CrossFit Health Book Club. Each month, we will announce the title of a book based on a health topic we will cover through articles, social-media posts, IG lives, and webinars. The book for January 2023 is “Fat Loss Forever: How to Lose Fat and KEEP it Off.”  We would love for you to read along with us and provide feedback and questions for our webinar in the comments below.

This month’s book explores why many fad diets fail “on a physiological, psychological, and sociological level so you can better understand why what you did previously did not work.”

With chapters on counting macros as well as a feature on the ketogenic diet, by Kristi Storoschuk and Dr. Dom D’Agostino, this book provides evidence-based recommendations for sustainable, healthy nutrition that supports exercise but not body fat.

About the Author

Layne Norton, Ph.D., is an expert in nutrition, protein metabolism, muscle gain, and fat loss. Dr. Norton completed a B.S. in Biochemistry and a Ph.D. in Nutritional Sciences. He spent years developing his skill set under Dr. Donald Layman, one of the world’s foremost researchers on protein metabolism and fat loss. He is also a successful bodybuilding competitor, winning a natural pro card in 2006 and competing as a pro in 2010, with a heavyweight class win at the 2010 IFPA International. Dr. Norton has written two bestselling books, “The Complete Contest Prep Guide” and “Fat Loss Forever” — which is this month’s CrossFit Health Book Club selection.

Peter Baker is an author and fitness coach in Tampa, Florida. He is also a competitive powerlifter and submission grappler. Baker is not only the co-author of “Fat Loss Forever,” but he also helped coach Dr. Norton in preparation for the IPF World Championships.

Is it possible to announce a new book with more lead time before the webinar? Ten days isn't much time to read a book.

Or am I just missing earlier announcements?
