“I forget I have Parkinson’s because I have genuinely been symptom-free — it’ll be two years at the end of next month.”
Scott Hanley shared his journey with Parkinson’s Disease and CrossFit with the community earlier this year.
He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2018 and when medication wasn’t working to alleviate his symptoms, Hanley’s research pointed to “be fit and strong.” So, he started exercising and joined CrossFit Belfast in 2021.
By sharing his story, Hanley has connected with others diagnosed with Parkinson’s and has inspired many to join CrossFit gyms in the hopes of managing their symptoms.
Watch the video now to hear Hanley’s update about his condition, leaving doctors stumped and intrigued on his progress, and his impact on the CrossFit and Parkinson’s communities.
