CrossFit LLC Golden Barbell Award Contest
Official Rules (the “Rules”)

  1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.

  2. THE CONTEST: Create and publish original content (the “Submission”) that nominates a person in the CrossFit community who deserves the Golden Barbell spirit award according to each week’s theme (the “Contest”).
  3. HOW TO ENTER: The Contest begins on Feb 23, 2024, at 12AM EST and runs through March 17, 2024, at 12AM EST. Submissions can make use of any of the following formats:
    1. Video: 3 minutes or less in any aspect ratio that works on your platform.
    2. Photo with a caption that is 250 words or less.
    3. Graphics, memes, or gifs.
    4. Share your CrossFit story on your social platform of choice (Instagram, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok are all accepted).
    5. Be sure to tag use the hashtag #GoldenBarbellAward in your post.
  4. ELIGIBILITY: Open to all entrants worldwide, regardless of nationality or origin. Void where prohibited. This Contest is offered and available to users who are 13 years of age or older. By entering the Contest, you represent and warrant that you are of legal age to form a binding contract with CrossFit, LLC and meet all of the foregoing eligibility requirements. If you do not meet all of these requirements, you must not enter the Contest.
  5. JUDGING: Submissions will be judged based on relevance to theme, quality, and creativity. CrossFit, LLC reserves the right to select a winner in its sole and absolute discretion, subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Rules.

  6. GRANT OF RIGHTS: All Submissions will be considered non-confidential and non-proprietary. By entering the Contest, entrants grant to CrossFit, LLC and its respective licensees, successors, and assigns the right to use, reproduce, modify, perform, display, distribute, and otherwise disclose to third parties any such materials included in the Submission. Upon entering, entrants represent that they have complied with these Rules, the Submission does not infringe or violate any third-party rights, and their Submission does not violate any laws.
  7. REPRESENTATIONS AND WARRANTIES: Submissions must in their entirety comply with all applicable federal, state, local, and international laws and regulations. Without limiting the foregoing, Submissions must not: (i) contain any material that is defamatory, obscene, indecent, abusive, offensive, harassing, violent, hateful, inflammatory, or otherwise objectionable toward CrossFit, LLC or other persons; (ii) promote sexually explicit or pornographic material, violence, or discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or age; (iii) infringe any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, or other intellectual property or other rights of any other person; (iv) violate the legal rights (including the rights of publicity and privacy) of others or contain any material that could give rise to any civil or criminal liability under applicable laws or regulations or that otherwise may be in conflict with these Rules and our Privacy Policy: (v) be likely to deceive any person; (vi) promote any illegal activity, or advocate, promote, or assist any unlawful act; and (vii) involve commercial activities or sales, such as contests, sweepstakes, and other sales promotions, barter, or advertising.
  8. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: By entering this Contest, entrants waive all right to, and hold the CrossFit, LLC harmless from, any claim, liability, loss, damage (including punitive, incidental, and consequential damages), or expense (including attorneys’ fees) arising out of or in connection with participation in this Contest or the acceptance, use, or misuse of any prize. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. CrossFit, LLC will not be responsible for: late, incomplete, or incorrect entries; an entrant’s failure to receive prize notices due to entrant’s spam, junk email, or other security settings or for entrants’ provision of incorrect or otherwise non-functioning contact information; technical, hardware, or software malfunctions, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, inaccurate, incomplete, garbled, or delayed electronic communications whether caused by the sender or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or used in this Contest; by any human error which may occur in the processing of the entries in this Contest; or any typographical, technological, or other error in the publishing of the offer, administration of the Contest, or announcement of the prizes. If there is any suspected evidence of tampering with any portion of the Contest, or if technical difficulties (including viruses and bugs) compromise the integrity of the Contest, CrossFit, LLC reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or modify this Contest in a manner deemed appropriate. In the event of termination, winners will be selected from among all eligible entries received as of date of termination. In the event a dispute arises as to the identity of a potentially winning entrant, entries will be declared made by the name on the online entry form. ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, CROSSFIT, LLC RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK ANY AND ALL REMEDIES AVAILABLE FROM ANY SUCH PERSON(S) FOR THE ATTEMPT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
  9. PRIZES: There will be three prizes – one given away each week of the Open consisting of a $400 Rogue gift card. Total prize value: $1,200. Prize consists of only those items specifically listed as part of the prize. No substitution or transfer of prize permitted by the winner. CrossFit, LLC reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. All prizes will be awarded. CrossFit will award a different winner each week of the Open.
  10. HOW TO COLLECT PRIZES: Winners will be notified through the social media platform where the nomination was received by March 17th, 2024. Failure to respond within seven (7) business days of the date on which CrossFit, LLC sends the notification whether due to server malfunction or any other cause, will result in disqualification. CrossFit, LLC will not be liable for entrants’ inability to receive notifications through social media.
  11. CHOICE OF LAW AND FORUM: Entrant agrees that all matters arising out of or relating to this Contest and these Rules are governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of California, without giving effect to any of its conflict of laws provisions thereof. Entrant further agrees that any legal suit, action, or proceeding arising out of or relating to this Contest and these Official Rules shall be brought exclusively in the applicable federal or state courts located in San Diego, California.
  12. ARBITRATION: Without limiting any Party’s right to apply to a court of competent jurisdiction for the purpose of obtaining equitable relief, the Parties agree to submit any disputes arising from this Agreement to final and binding arbitration under the JAMS Comprehensive Arbitration Rules & Procedures. The arbitration shall be held in San Diego, California.
  13. PRIVACY: Information submitted with an entry is subject to CrossFit, LLC’s Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions located on www.crossfit.com.
  14. WINNERS LIST: For the names of all prize winners, please tune into the CrossFit Games Podcast available on March 4th, 11th, and 18th.
