Excellent video! I continued to CrossFit through both my pregnancies and it was the only thing that kept me sane and happy. I love to see this becoming less and less taboo.

Nice video on CF while pregnant. Do CF L1 trainers get any instruction on how to coach someone who's pregnant?

My wife and I started Crossfit in January 2013, found out we were pregnant at the end of February 2013, and she made the decision to keep going through the pregnancy as long as she was able. She continued going up until the week before our daughter was born at the end of November. I have never been more proud of her, and I think that she is an inspiration to all of our gym members. Since the birth of our daughter, several other ladies at our gym have gotten pregnant or are thinking about getting pregnant and have asked my wife about her experience and I love seeing her tell her story.

Can we make suggestion for the people who give their shout outs to the trainer courses over the weekend to do it on a rest day instead of Mondays?

They should remake the prego vid with spooky, ominous music for all the haters. Ha!

Is it weird that I was excited
to buy horse stall mats for
my garage gym today?

Lower back pain help? 30 yr/o male, military

Avid crossfitter for close to 10 years, was going for a snatch PR and felt my back strain just before full extension. Low vertabrae, L4/5 ish, back, right side of vertabrae. Spent 1 month in physical therapy, moved, kept doing my job in the infantry, tried to take it easy, but never had a real break. Scaled XFit workouts down to 25lb bar like movements for close to a year. Pain gets worse when I do nothing, but not healing. Stopped working out all together haven't done anything but a home. PT plan for 5 mo. Still not getting better. Got an MRI. They don't see anything. Military medicine is taking a pain management route and telling me to live with it.

Killing me to think I may be done with XFit forever but can't think of any other options. Getting to the point where I can't sleep without meds and I can't sit down anymore for more than 10 min before the back starts stinging pretty bad. Love this community, anybody have any success stories/guidance.

As a Level 1 Trainer, I think that pregnancy it's a serious fact, so I'd never recommend a girl to continue training during her pregnancy. I'm not a doctor, and for me some soft exercise could be fine but barbells... that's other thing...
Anyway, everyone is his own owner and every girl must know what's the most important thing in the world for her.

@Mike A - not at all! I hear you!!! Was that a haiku?

Pregnancy is not an illness or disease. It's a normal human condition. I think eating sugar during pregnancy is riskier than exercising.

I'm retired military and have C3-C6 fused. I live with a certain amount of pain, but know the reason. I recommend you not give up with pressing your medical provider/clinic to find the cause of your pain (another MRI, second opinion, etc.). Additionally, seek help from your chain of command - I would think/hope they would want you Fully Mission Capable and exert influence on the medical community to get you fixed. Best of Luck!

NickName @13,

At the end of each L1 cert the Flow Master asks each participant to make a comment on CrossFit.com. It is the only place for feedback, and it is the place preferred by CF_HQ. Trust me, the L1 teams DO read them every week. If you find them not to your liking it's my experience that they start to peter out around 1000 or 1100 each day; start your daily .com fix at noon.

Cheers.
