Apparently we haven't been doing enough squat variations. Good grief!

Comment #2 - Posted by: Shaun at June 5, 2014 6:57 PM

@ Shaun

Only 3 out of the last 12 days have had any squat or squat variation in the WOD. Therefore, I agree - we haven't been doing enough squat variations. :P

Enjoy - this should get spicy!

You guys are kickinfb my ass. Had to use 115lb because I dont have 25lb plates. Not sure how far my street is but I am guessing it is linger than 400 yards. Hoping for a better time next time.

Comment #8 - Posted by: Hugh a (56yrs) at June 6, 2014 2:51 AM

I've been really feeling exhausted lately. Crashing by 830 at night. Sleeping about 8-9 hours, which us what I like. Here is my question, does anyone out there take a rest period? Meaning more than a day at a time? A week? I'm 53 5'2' and 112lb female. My personality is all type A. My goal is to have a healthier out look at my training, but I want to maintain staying lean and strong. I feel like my legs are always tired. I do 85% paleo diet and drink lots of water. Any suggestions?thank you

So I do t have 25lb plates, did this with the 35lb plates (115lb thrusters) not sure on the distance of my street but I am pretty sure it is longer than 400 yards.

Hope to have a better time next time.

@MattyD85 I think porch and pack refers to "if you cant run with the big dogs stay on the porch" big dogs=the pack. Just guessing.

Comment #21 - Posted by: Don at June 6, 2014 5:09 AM

@D.S. - thanks, nice job! Some days you eat the bear...

Great efforts by the morning crew! I agree with @Mike Andridge - great morning to WOD outside

@MattyD85 - the terms loosely refer to your fitness level:

Puppies = beginner level scaling, new CrossFitters

Pack = the biggest group - like "running with the pack," these are your average CrossFitters

Porch = above average CrossFitters - these dogs have left the pack and claimed a spot on the porch

Big Dawgs = can do the WOD as Rx'd and kill it. Although I can sometimes do Rx, I still don't consider myself a Big Dawg ;)

30kg thruster

This was horrible. I'd hoped to come in just under 20 but my 400s went out the window - ended up doing a bit of walking. Usually 400s are a strength, but obviously offset by thrusters being one of my big weaknesses.

As rx'd, 15:37.

Did this on the "regulation" 400m course - with thrusters in the driveway instead of the gym. First run came in around 1:40, the others were probably closer to 2:00. Took some deliberate rest before thrusters, probably about 30s. Thrusters unbroken, but rested overhead for a few breaths after 10 reps or so. It's a hot one out there today.

Thank you very much. I agree with the thankful comments, crossfit is a life-changer. I've been doing it on my own and inconsistently for a few years now, but even so, it's made such a positive impact on my life.

Thrusters unbroken sets 1,2,5. Broken 10/5 sets 3,4.

400m runs were through gym, around machines and people, out the door, down 10 steps, around the block and back = obstacle course.
