Strength: back squat 3x5 @ 220# (PR). 10y KB lunges w/ 45# KB. Floor press 3x5 @ 185# (PR). 15 slide board push-ups. 6x80y sprint EMOM for 6 mins.

14.2 looks fun, but overhead squats are another goat of mine.

Kevin,

Thank you for sharing your story. It puts any problems I have into perspective in a big way. I truly admire your spirit. Don't stop being awesome.

Comment #3 - Posted by: Milt at March 6, 2014 5:50 PM

Kevin Ogar, no, thank you for everything you are doing for us. You are touching more lives now than you may have ever thought was possible. Ogar strong.

Comment #4 - Posted by: Gavin at March 6, 2014 6:47 PM

Very proud to see hq getting behind kevin ogar- castro's shirt at 14.1, this vid etc. I think we need an ogar strong wod from mainsite. I dont do a lot of traditional crossfit anymore (i like it short and heavy), but i will do an ogar wod even if it takes an hour and doesnt use a single weight.

Comment #5 - Posted by: ben at March 6, 2014 7:56 PM

Kevin,
You are hugely inspirational and epitomize all that is CrossFit. You are a champion!

Comment #6 - Posted by: Will Wright at March 6, 2014 8:07 PM

Question: use of hand grips, yes or no? No where in the instructions does it state the use or non-use. However, it is not listed in the equipment section. Just want to be certain before my box hits this WOD tomorrow...assistance needed!

Comment #7 - Posted by: Don at March 6, 2014 8:09 PM

Kevin,

Thank you for sharing your energy with all of us. You ar amazing, God Bless you man!

Well, there you go. If he believed CrossFit was what injured him, he would have stated it. It's an honor to have Kevin in our community. I would like to hear his take on what went wrong in the lift. Does anyone know of anything Kevin has posted anywhere regarding how it happened? Was it as he was coming out of the lift? Did the bar fall then bounce off surrounding equipment and hit him?

Comment #11 - Posted by: Libbie at March 6, 2014 9:57 PM

Kevin Ogar you are an inspiration to all crossfitters and people everywhere. Your will and positivity is amazing. Keep pushing brother!

Comment #12 - Posted by: Dylyn v at March 6, 2014 10:50 PM

Kevin - brings tears to my eyes. The community is (and always has been) lucky to have someone like you.

14.2 - I now have a few days to PR an OHS and then do it a bunch of times. Plus the C2B are going to need to be strict pull-ups otherwise I'll be putting my head through the ceiling (v. little clearance) - which would be funny on an out-take video perhaps...
I can feel a rather low score coming on. 3,2,1...

Great attitude Kevin
you are in my thoughts and prayers

Comment #14 - Posted by: Mike Andridge/44/5'8"/175 at March 7, 2014 5:34 AM

Well I knew 14.2 was gonna be tough seeing as 95lb is near my max for OHS' s! Was 2 reps shy of the first 3 mins!! V v v frustrating. Still happy with my first attempt and will have another crack at it tomorrow morning. Target is to get into that 2nd lot of 3 mins. Good luck everybody.

Kevin- like everybody else, I was struck, and inspired, by your great attitude.

All the best to you, in your comeback!

A true inspiration, crossfit is what gives us strength not only physically but the mental strength to achieve the seemingly impossible. How about a para athlete crossfit games to celebrate all aspects of our sport?

Ok so now they are ha ha!

Well I knew that 14.2 was gonna be tough seeing as 95lb is near my max for OHS ' s! I was 2 reps short of completing the 2nd round of 10 before the 3 min time cap. V v frustrating! ! Will have another go at it tomorrow morning.

Comment #21 - Posted by: Justin 35/5'9/170lbs at March 7, 2014 8:03 AM

Open 14.2 Rx

31 total reps.

Pretty discouraging, I at least was hoping to finish the first round. Much harder than it looked.

Continuing to pray for you. Kudos to HQ for their backing.

@ Ben. Looks like the OGAR WOD is:

AMRAP 14 Minutes

135 lb Snatch, 3 Reps
1 Muscle Up
12 Wall Balls, 20 lbs, 10 Feet

Comment #25 - Posted by: SANTIAGO at March 7, 2014 10:27 AM

M/49/5'10"/170

14.2 67 reps.

Only got to 3 squats in the 2nd round of 12's. 67 reps. Once again, I'm just glad I could do it at all without scaling.

I was rooting for Camille! Sigh.

Glad to see Kevin O moving forward. Never give up!

Day two of fever. It’s not as high as yesterday, but still feeling generally horrible.

I hope I’m better tomorrow so I can attempt 14 2.
If I get ONE decent C2B pull up, I can get some points on that board and keep going with the Open. If not, I’ll keep doing the Open WODS anyway, just not for points. All good!

Comment #32 - Posted by: Glorybelle 5'5/135/44/F at March 7, 2014 1:22 PM

Kevin,

I pray for you regularly, my crossfit brother. You are a champion, and you have no idea how many people you are inspiring right now.
I hope to be able to shake your hand someday.

14.2 A pathetic 76 reps but I kept going for another round
Then 5-5-5-5-5 bench press up to 295#
Then a bunch of shoulders and chest workouts
Felt strong today just not very fast
