As a high school health teacher of 188 students a semester, I feel overwhelmed trying to teach them about the dangers of sugar. It is like my own little "chipper" I've just got to keep plugging away.

@mike

Look foward to competing with you. Did it last year and was a lot of fun. My wife is also a teacher and every year she does a class project where the goal is to give up sugar for a week. This teaches them just how much sugar we are really consuming and how addictive sugar actually is.

Comment #3 - Posted by: hollyhog at February 26, 2014 6:29 PM

I'm signed up and looking forward to competing; against myself. :)

I'm approaching the CF Games like I approached the marathons I've run. I didn't run them thinking for even a millisecond that I would win. I ran them because I wanted to challenge myself to be a better, faster runner.

Maybe we should start a pool on who'll be dead last, and I've a feeling it may be me. I'm perfectly okay with that!

Okiedokie, troops. I have to take Friday off exercise, so I need a Crossfit workout for today instead.

Who wants to pick one for me?

Please be kind...I had a baby a few months ago.

I really miss the CrossFit Journal articles by Dr. Steven Platek. Where'd he go? It's as if he dropped off the face of the planet.

Good time of year to practice some personal sacrifice. Time to shut the spigot on the sugar intake.

I'm going to cut out all the sweet tasties, ice cream (the hardest part), the m's in my trail mix, even my post-workout chocolate milk. With any luck, my habits will morph for the better by the end of six weeks.

At least I'll be drinking less coffee.

@hollyhog

I am a student teacher right now and I would love to see how your wife does this lesson about sugar. And how many kids give up sugar and how it effects them.If you have any information for me please pass it along. Looking for a little guidance.

Best,

Danny

"He who has the most fun, wins."

Taking this one with me for the Open. Might not be my year for Regionals but damned if I don't have a blast judging and competing :)
