225-lb. cleans, 3 reps

First three rounds at 175lbs
two rounds at 155
last two rounds at 135
managed extra 5 jumps within the time

did 3 cleans anyway to finish 8 rounds

Maybe not a good idea but I will do little clean squat ladder tomorrow for warmup (slow ladder) and try it again all the way 175 or 185 but without the squat. My oly lifting is not the strongest yet so my cleans were really slow and a lot of them were power cleans into squats. 7 minut AMRAP and than some mobility, should be fun. Those lovely rest days...

Just some thoughts on similar stimulus. Wod calls for 150 inches total of box jumps per round with 675 pounds of cleans per round. So a similar stimulus would be a wod that provides the same in inches jumped and pounds cleaned? Just some thoughts based on the current run of wods. For example 6 box jumps at 24" and 4 cleans@170? Coach any thoughts?

Stimulus and work are not synonymous. You have computed a work/round equivalent. Do you think you would do the same number of rounds with your alteration as you would with the WOD as Rx'd? Only one way to know, of course.

If you are computing Power and you did, indeed, perform the same number of rounds, you would have equivalent Power; there is a corresponding greater number of rounds with the same rep scheme for which you would produce the same power as with the higher loads.

Stimulus is a different beast IMO, though Coach may disagree. The effect on your body (and your psyche) from moving the heavier load and jumping higher, exerting more Force with each rep, is qualitatively different than moving a lower load twice or jumping to a lower height twice. I'm afraid my vocabulary fails here, but I hope that at least moves the conversation along.

Sorry for the double post. But my goodness! Since when does clean equate to power clean. The standards are gone. People are doing whatever they want thus losing the ability to accurately gather and compare valid data. Sub 2 min Grace. NO CHANCE! Grace done as ground to overhead is not the same as the original.

You are kidding, right? A clean and a power clean are two different lifts.

C'mon. Are you suggesting that Olympians are actually trying to do Power Cleans but miss them because they are too weak so their lifts become cleans. All this time I have thought cleans allowed for a greater load to be moved precisely because it did not have to be pulled as high.

But that is not the point. The point was that the Workout as written specified cleans. It did NOT specify Power cleans. Liberal interpretation of movements and obsession with time is robbing CF of its virtuosity.

Wanted to do big box jumps + cleans, but had to do globo-crowded-hack on Thursday instead:

7 min amrap of

- 5 pulls on rower, sub-1:40 (couldn't maintain sub 1:35 today)
- 3 reps of 2 x 50# db cleans

7 rounds flat

Globo has a 30" box, and I warmed up / cooled down on it. Maybe someday I'll pull over a barbell & see how box jumps + cleans go...

Did after 3-3-3+ deads.

As rx'd, 6 rounds + 3 box jumps.

All about the cleans. Did power clean singles, mostly from the floor. A few hang power cleans later as I got tired. Failed one rep in round 6. These felt pretty good, but my power clean technique (especially landing position) gets a little sloppy under this heavy of a load. Box jumps mostly unbroken.
