Elizabeth Rx 8:15 (PR). First time doing her Rx today. Prior PR was 130707 in 8:33 with scale to 115#.

Before Elizabeth, I did CrossFit Football:

Strength: Back squat 3x5 @ 190# (to 20" box).
WOD: 10 minute AMRAP of: 3 close grip floor press @ 155# and 10 dynamic push-ups. 4 rounds + 3 push-ups.

@53 tim, it doesn't matter for this, it isn't specified. Most will do power cleans because it's quicker. I started with muscle cleans, I'm sure many did.

#59/Mike A, the WOD only says "cleans." Garddawg on BrandX says to do whichever allows the greatest speed. I feel like I get so much more out of a sc than a pc that I've defaulted to that unless the WOD specifically says pc.

Truth be told, almost all of us are doing power cleans, regardless of what we are calling it. Most CrossFitters (myself ABSOLUTELY included) are not really doing squat cleans...we are simply catching the bar and riding it down into a squat. If you catch it at parallel or above then it is a power clean.

Love the debate that still persists about cleans..... Seems so simple. There is only one "Clean" and it is catching below parallel...simple as that. If it were anything else it would specify. But! Scaling is what makes this stuff great. If you can't comfortably do squat cleans, then don't do 45 of them in a WOD. Just know that it is a scaling, not "RX"

Read up on clean(squat clean) versus power clean before I completed. Power cleans are faster. Best if you can drop weights doing cleans. Lots of energy lost controlling weight to the floor.

Disapp. However, top of glute at hip bothering me again so that hurt time a bit. Remainder of problem mostly fact that cleans suck for me. Dips not bad. Forgot to kip for most of 1st round. Good job keeping arms in & engaging lats though.
