This is the type of WOD that makes me want to quit crossfit.

Comment #1 - Posted by: Jlacy at December 5, 2013 5:15 PM

Beautiful wod

Comment #2 - Posted by: Peter at December 5, 2013 5:33 PM

@Jlacy, come on, have fun loading that 160# on and off the bar during an AMRAP.

Comment #3 - Posted by: Gavin at December 5, 2013 5:33 PM

Gavin, I don't understand what you mean. I would use two bars?

Comment #4 - Posted by: Jlacy at December 5, 2013 5:50 PM

I hear you Jlacy, I was thinking this was going to be a bit on the light side so I'd planned to do the AMRAP 3 times with a 5 minute rest between. I think that'll make it a little easier to get something more out of it.

And I agree, definitely use 2 bars.

Comment #5 - Posted by: Brhino at December 5, 2013 6:25 PM

Can't wait to do this workout tomorrow. My goal is 7 rounds.

Comment #6 - Posted by: Earvin at December 5, 2013 6:32 PM

sometimes its good just to have a "heavy" sprint remember that quick extensive heavy workout keeps buring those fat burning fires long after workout. I have been doing crossfit for just over month and I have been so hungry during that time all i wanna do is eat, anyone else have that issue? Prob burning more cals. I have been workoing out in many forms over last 23yrs but crossfit seems for me the one that gets me working the hardest:)did wed workout in 9:36, and mon he day before that in 22:20. Boy my arms hurt!

Comment #7 - Posted by: matt daly at December 5, 2013 6:47 PM

We found out the news today that my mom passed away. I'm dedicating this WOD to my mom. Her name is Viola.

set weight for women?

Comment #11 - Posted by: Mila at December 5, 2013 8:19 PM

Women's rx'ed weight is about 70% so 195 for deadlift and 80 lbs for the push press.

Comment #12 - Posted by: Michael at December 5, 2013 8:34 PM

5 rounds, 3 dl

Man, that was a cold bar.

Comment #13 - Posted by: Sinal M/34/5'9"/210 at December 5, 2013 8:45 PM

Quick question,
Are the WODs posted here always based around the same person? say this workout is made for Jon Doe, will tomorrows WOD be made for him also? if I can do 75% of the weight posted in this WOD, can i assume i can do 75% of the next workout? I know everyones strengths are different, but I'm trying to get a base line of where I can start. does this make sense? I don't have a box near me but i have equipment and motivation. trying to learn all this in my garage. Thanks

Awesome video on a great kid! Lauren Fisher is a great girl, and has everything it takes mentally and physically to be a champion…and more importantly, is someone that anyone would be proud to have in their community. Her parents should be very proud!

Comment #27 - Posted by: ScooteR at December 6, 2013 4:19 AM

#13 Adam,

I always tell people the WOD, as posted, is meant to be challenging to a 175 pound, 25 year old male who is already in outstanding physical condition, i.e. he is already CrossFit. (Crossfit is an adjective too, right?)

I think I read that prototypical WOD athlete description somewhere in the past seven years anyway.

Scaled, 1 bar.
M, 29, 183lb.

185# DL
95# Push Press

4 rounds + 5 PP.

Question for the community: Was this WOD supposed to be 1 bar or 2? I struggled with this over night but settled on 1 bar to create the Ground 2 Shoulder aspect before the PP. Also my weights were determined with efficient load/off load.

Comment #32 - Posted by: Seth at December 6, 2013 5:25 AM

Adam asked...

Thank you everybody for your condolences. I appreciate it. It was hard getting to the gym but my older bro was right on this: my mom dedicated her whole life to making sure we were all happy so I should live my life happy in honor to her. She would of been 55 this coming February. It's going to be tough but CrossFit taught me that I can get through it.

As rx'd, 9 rounds + 3 Deadlifts (PR).

Went out at full speed for the first 2 minutes, then just tried to hang on. The last couple minutes hurt pretty bad. Last time I did this, I got 8 + 2 push press; wanted to get through 9 rounds today. Legs were burning at the end, and push press was starting to get tough. Did them unbroken, but had to take a mini-break or two in the rack position in the last couple rounds. Fun WOD.
