I really miss the WOD demo videos. They were so inspiring. Was it just too time consuming to make them?

Dennis, the idea is that you find your one rep max for each of the three lifts. You should work your way up to this value at your own pace. For most people, they will take 5 or 6 lifts of increasing weight before you actually try to beat your old one rep max.

Long time lurker, first time poster. I drank the CrossFit Koolaid this weekend...Bought some Kbells, a medicine ball, and a giant rubber band to assist with pullups. Going over to Tuscumbia soon and get some Hi-Temp bumper plates. Yay me, right?

@Deidre, nice job! One thing I've learned is that the WODs here may interfere with your strength gains. You will get stronger, but maybe not at the rate you should be. It all depends what you are training for. I knew I had to get a strength base to complete WODs as Rx, so I'm moving towards it.

Interestingly, as I eliminate my main site WODs and do the CFFB WODs, my times on the girls have all gone down. That is, my metcon may not be as great as it was, but my strength gains have compensated for it. I did 3 girl workouts last Saturday and crushed PRs in all of them.

In defense of Nick Dizzy, although I can hardly say whether it happened or not. It does seem plausible or at least possible.

5'7 carries 190 lbs. a lot different than say a 6' person.

Little levers help with power movements the squat and dead-lift weights don't seem all that odd to me. 245 lbs. is a lot to put overhead but doesn't mean it didn't happen.
