Any suggestions for how many SDHP's for 20 calories?
Thanks.

Comment #2 - Posted by: Mike Andridge/43/5'8"/175 at November 4, 2013 6:09 PM

@Mike Andridge - 20 cals is about a minute of rowing give or take. Which is say 250-300 meters. So 25 to 30 SDHPs would be an estimate.

good luck

Comment #3 - Posted by: Mel/40m/5'10"/180 at November 4, 2013 6:21 PM

Pat- awesome video. Thanks for sharing.

Comment #4 - Posted by: Mike A. at November 4, 2013 6:25 PM

At comment 3 (mike): if you get an answer could you let me know? Thanks

Comment #5 - Posted by: Luis Estrada at November 4, 2013 6:27 PM

How do you row for calories? I don't think the rower at my gym has that on it's display.

Comment #6 - Posted by: Sage Kreft at November 4, 2013 6:32 PM

@Mike #3, I would do 30 SDHP with 45#. 16 calories/minute is a pretty good row. So roughly 75 seconds to get to 20 calories. 30 SDHP in 75 seconds is a decent pace if you are doing them properly (shin to chin!).

The equation that C2 uses for calories is a complex one, and not fool-proof (no calorie equation for exercise ever is).

The formula used in the by the C2 is as follows:
Calories = (4x ave. watts/1.1639) + 300 cal/hour x time rowed (in hours).

This formula assumes a person of 175 pounds (80 kg.) and a base rate of 300 cal/hour to move your body through the rowing motion at 30 strokes/minute.

Comment #7 - Posted by: Gavin at November 4, 2013 7:52 PM

Cool, so 30 reps of SDHP it is @45lbs

Comment #8 - Posted by: Luis Estrada at November 4, 2013 8:00 PM

Pat- I am enjoying following your trip and really appreciate your showing the various CF boxes on your trip. Great community! Be safe.

there are injuries in all sports from baseball to base jumping. We all have limits and sometimes in an effort to extend them we exceed them. minimize that with expert instruction and sound judgment... and then lift that thing up!!! Again!!! Again!!!

13:59, pack (20 calories and 30 reps of everything else w/ 30 lb DB and 25 lb plate), burpee subs (squats and pushups)

Last time:
33:30, 20 SDHP, 10 lb DB (more due to can't do snatch yet), 50 T2B/K2E, 25 lb plate and sprint

Comment #114 - Posted by: RussA at November 6, 2013 5:17 PM

Scale a few days late:

Row 20 calories
30 Burpees
30 pound Two-arm kettlebell ground-to-overhead, 40 reps
50 Toes to bar
100 foot Walking lunge with 30lb kb held overhead
150 foot Sprint

18 minutes

Probably 6+ minutes on T2B, lots of singles.

Work T2B 2x weekly for form, speed, endurance.

The WODFEST in the WILD event was one of the best run, most intense events I have ever attended. WHO ARE THESE GUYS? They have a beautiful setup, professionals across the board and a venue which is WORLD CLASS. Are you hearing me muscle heads....get your wild on and sign up for next year.....THIS THING IS INTENSE....You come away feeling like BIG FOOT RUN WILD!

Fr home. Ground to overhead the worst part. Basically power clean, then push press. Done at home w/Olympic dumbbells. To to B pretty broken after first 10. Lunges pretty good. Broken to just 50' increments.
6/5/11: 19:35
Row-45 sec.
Burpees not too bad. Good ROM. Chest to deck.
Did clean & jerk for ground to overhead.
Better toward end once I got good shrug & jump, kept hips back & chest up.
Grip tough on T to B.
Lunges not too bad, active shoulders good, on toes too much instead of heels.
