Personally, I wouldn't be really offended. Tosh does this to every group of people in the world no matter what they do. It shouldn't be much of a surprise. It's at least a little funny, and I think HQ's response is hilarious.

49 male, 170, 5' 11"
Used 30 lb dumbbells, and. 95 lbs for thrusters. Did not do the snatches. Couldn't snatch 95 lbs and only have one bar. 5 rounds 16:35. 1.75 mile treadmill run at 14:36. First day coming off a midnight shift (0000 hrs to 0800 hrs). Nice way to start or end the day. :-)

KB burpees w/ pushups and jumps, using 1x44# and 1x36# kb (try it--the asymetrical loading on the body is good for you! Very functional)

Too Funny. MTF CrossFit will be doing KB Burpee's today. Our rendition is: sumo deadlift stance to set kB down. Drop to burpee. Use close grip push up stance to balance on KB. Sumo Deadlift to KB swing stop at top of swing. Jump 6 inches.Sumo Deadlift stance to set KB down. Repeat.

Thruster and Snatch will both be done with a single KB same weight as KB Burpee!

So I have two thoughts about Tosh's comments: 1) There is no such thing as bad publicity (Miley Cyrus’ song being at #1 right now is a good example), and, 2) Every time I hear a reference to a cult, all I can think of is Adam Sandler's "Joining the Cult" skit from an old comedy CD I had as a teenager. Some one should do a Crossfit parody of that skit.

15 kb's burpees with two 1 pood kb's. The first 10 I kicked back to plank, push-up off kb's, jump up to kb's, and then a Deadlift. The last 5 in each set I eliminated the push-up. Very tiring...
2 thrusters with the same kb's
1 power snatch with the same kb's

Love this stuff!!! 6 years and counting, great rebuttle to Tosh. Also, like Puck said in an earlier comment, what about doing a sub 3 min with some OC's. I miss the likes of Everett Spealler, OPT, Eva T, Nicole, etc. I know life happens and I know young blood moves in ,but you always have to remember where ya came from. So i am planning on hitting this tonight but i want to make sure i got it right.

As i read it I took it to mean you picked a KB weight and just rocked through all the moves with those KB.

Ex. Start with 40lb KB For burpee then go straight into 2 thrusters with those KB then into 1 Snatch with those KB. Wouldn't take as long but you could gas yourself out I would think.

So instead it is KB only for burpees and then go with BB for the other 2 moves?

The kettlebell burpees that I did we're pretty basic:
Squat down, place both hands on kettlebell, jump
legs out to plank, jump back in and jump up. The
kettlebell weight is irrelevant for this one (which is
good because I only have 1 35lb'er)

Got to work at 7:30, happened to check the main page and saw the tosh.wod. I couldn't resist, HQ, great work, this is hilarious. Went back to the gym at 5:30 pm to knock this out.

5 RFT
15 KB burpees - 8 kg each arm
2 Thruster - 80 lbs
1 Snatch - 80 lbs

11:11 RX (since I made up the RX weight...)

Burpees were performed with a kb in each arm, full push up at the bottom and a jump at the top as seen on youtube.

Wanted to go for 95 lbs, but that is close to my 1rm for snatch on a good day, and my legs were toast from all of the front squats in the am.

It is a great day to be a crossfitter!

For kb burpees, used 45lb kb, burpee on top of the kb then up to a full kb swing. Use the same kb for the 2 thrusters, and then did single arm kb snatch, one with each arm. 4th and 5th set had to switch to a 25lb dumbbell for the burpees about half way through the set.

Messed around a bit before deciding on...

Kettlebell burpee = Single kettlebell. Lower to floor, hop into push-up position, do push-up on kettlebell handle, hop back up, perform kettlebell swing.

95lb squat snatch x1

Snatch weight was too close to my 1RM... Also, the kettlebell capsized a half-dozen times during the push-up. Kinda fun to catch myself before face-planting, though.

I can save you a lot of time regarding the curiosity around the team leadership thing..... there really isn't anyone like you. (Sorry for the bro-love) Seriously, there isn't. Not at this time anyway.

You can do the occasional team competition for kicks but I wouldn't make that your career, you'll regret it. And if you don't bring hurt atheletes you will usually win.

Subbed dumbbell burpee deadlifts (w/ 2 50# DBs) with a full jump after the DL. Used same dumbbells for thrusters and snatch (power). Time - 12:16.

These got spicy. Each round took ~2 min with some mini-breaks throughout, then I would rest for 30s between rounds. Felt like I got stronger in later rounds - was able to push a little faster in rounds 4 and 5.
