Started with empty bar 25 kg overhead
Got to 155 on the back squat and couldn't finnish the last 2 sets.
I need smaller discs to go up 15 times :(

Comment #1 - Posted by: Reuben at October 15, 2013 6:17 PM

So, do I do 1 rep of each exercise until I reach 15 sets? Or what? I'm new to Crossfit, my second day. A little unsure, help needed.

Richard Vose, do all 5 O/H squats, then all 5 FS, then the BS.

Aim to start your front squats heavier than your last overhead squat, and start your back squats heavier than your last front squat. Make sense?

Muscle ups finally clicked for me today! I was painting my deck and saw the rings just hanging there forlornly, so casually wandered over covered in paint and it all just came together.

Can anyone help. The games are on espn today but is that only in the USA? I have espn but in the UK and can't find it! Any ideas?

Good work out today look forward to it.

Good to hear the other guy got his muscel up, so much hard work for one movment, worth every drop of sweat, saw hand, and fail. The first rep is the hardest, you'll be smashing out sets of 5 soon

Well this was a good WOD, but I accidentally did two extra reps per movement. I found the OHS's challenging after the handstand walks the day before. I was having a hard time keeping the weight stable at the top.
Previous 1 rep Max's
OHS: 135
FS: 210
BS: 215

For WOD I did:
OHS 95/105/115/125/135/145/145(fail)
FS 145/155/165/175/185/195/205(fail)
BS 205/210/215/220/225/230/235(fail)

So for those paying attention I broke my BS and OHS Pr's by about 7% each!

Comment #25 - Posted by: James at October 16, 2013 8:32 AM

Subbed 5 reps OHS at 95lbs for each one rep of OHS (still pretty new at this don't quite have the neuro control and strength to snatch that much weight over my head yet)

@ M/36/176/5'11" no name posted

I struggled with pitching forward with the OHS too.
I discovered through watching a video somewhere that you need to shrug your shoulders up toward your ears to help really stabilize at the top. Like I said in my other post though, it was challenging because my shoulders were spent from yesterdays WOD and that may have been part of the issue.

2/3 of cycle 33 done. Got a 245 FS but I brought the weight down on the bs to practice low bar bs. I noticed it helps me learn how to squat better and I can tell if anterior pelvic tilt kicks in and when to push my knees out. Going to warm up with this for now on.

Ran 2 miles to gym then did a wod I found on a local box's site:
THE AIR FORCE WOD, I used 50 pounds
20 Thrusters 95/65
20 Sumo dead lift high pulls 95/65
20 Push jerks 95/65
20 Overhead squats 95/65
20 Front squats 95/65
15min time cap
The athlete must perform 4 burpees every minute on the minute until completion.
Includes beginning the workout with 4 burpees. If you are in the middle of a rep when your coach yells burpees you may finish the rep.
10:19
Then I ran 2 miles home.

You and I are the same age and height. Weight is close, I'm 10# lighter than you. Have you ever done a dedicated strength program?

I've done CrossFit football strength wods for the past 3 months and seen amazing gains in everything. I'd be curious if you would have the same results (I think you would). It only adds ~20 minutes/day to your workout.

Complete as many rounds in 20 minutes as you can of:
5 Pull-ups
10 Push-ups
15 Squats

12 rounds plus 5 pull-ups plus 7 push-ups

Push-ups were the problem, as usual.

Really limited today on time and equipment so I focused on shoulder mobility and did sets of 5 overhead squats with 30# dumbbell in one hand. Alternated that with slow sets of 5 air squats focusing on knee position and form.

Ended up doing 4 sets of 5 of each: ovhd left arm, ovhd right arm, air squats

Should have counted my 95lb OHS as a warm up, and pushed it a little harder.. thinking 165 was do-able.

Still impressing myself with the gains achieved by following this site!

Last time I did this was March 2011, where I topped out at 205/265/335. So I only increased the Overhead Squats by a notch. The Front Squats would have been easy to go one more, but I forgot to increase the weight on the 3rd rep and didn't realize until the end. The 335lb Back Squat started to stall out half-way up, so I pulled back for the last rep. I was feeling pretty gassed.
