Ain't gonna lie, need to work on my power clean form, heavy weight is usually easy for me, except when it comes to cleans - may have to scale till I get my form down right.

Over the past weekend I myself didnt have a med ball and didnt want to spend 80 bucks on one, so i bought a $5 basketball and a $3 tire repair kit, and a $4 roll of black duct tape. I live right next to a beach so I filled a bucket up with sand and took it home, cut a hole in the ball and filled it up, patched the hole with the kit and then wrapped the entire ball with tape, ball is about 21.5 lbs, works awesome!!

If a real crossfit WOD is easy, you're
a) not moving enough weight,
b) not moving fast enough,
or
c) full of it.

thought I was on pace to do a low 30 minute time but somehow the time got away with the changing weights and adding of depth to the handstand push-ups so I could go a bit lower than my head touching. Next time I will know how to set up for a quicker workout.

Felt really good about this one. This is, probably, only the sixth hero WOD I have successfully completed (not for lack of trying). My power cleans were short today (my max power clean is only 175# on a good day) but, all in all, I feel like it went well. Didn't seem like a huge deal until those last few rounds but, man, once you see that light at the end of the tunnel, it's sprint time!

Good luck to everyone else!

30rounds:

2 rounds warmup. No pullups just to give upper back a break. Superman. DU - lots of practice. Worked up to 215 clean.
39:38 @ 215
Very disapp overall - at least I did 215 this time. HSPU tough for first 1/2, then better when I focused on good breath & tight outer arm - similar to IT band in leg. Took a lot of time on cleans to get good setup & recover to prevent missing reps. Only missed 3.
8/30/12: 31:20 @ 205
Cleans not bad when I remembered to jump. Really drive elbows under bar & get bar to fingertips.

Sub'd 22 pound dumbbells thrusters for wall ball shots
70kg Power clean

36:24

Started with an one round per minute pace, but couldn't maintain that for more than ten minutes. HSPUs were limiting. Used two half inch plates for the first 5 rounds for a little deficit, bad idea.
It's important to really jump up the dumbbell thrusters (or wall ball shots) to save the shoulders for the HSPUs.
Power cleans were ok, maybe I could use 75kg next time (tried 80kg today and failed).

Fried my shoulders early by using two half inch plates for the first 5 rounds of HSPUs for a little deficit.
