I have never heard better articulated group of coaches than I had the pleasure to listen to in Chicago this weekend. Their instruction provides plenty of confidence in passing the written test however, P or F... Money well spent!

Comment #3 - Posted by: Chris at August 11, 2013 5:20 PM

Why is it that Rich is never in the group photo from certs held at his box? Does he show up at any point during the weekend?

Comment #4 - Posted by: ME at August 11, 2013 5:21 PM

@ ME. At my cert at Reebok Crossfit one Austin Malleolo took the pic, so he's not in the pic a lot. Maybe Rich is behind the camera

@ME

My wife attended her L1 cert at Mayhem and Rich showed up a couple of times, even cheered everyone on during Fran.

Comment #7 - Posted by: HaSt at August 11, 2013 5:51 PM

#4 yes, rich was at the gym a couple of times throughout the weekend. He cleaned a bunch of weight, jerked it, did muscl ups like it was tiring shoe laces. He wasn't on the staff though. But the people that were, chuck c., Leah p. Matt and Cherie, rob m., and James h., were freaking awesome! I laughed a lot and learned a lot. I realized that my technique still needs a lot of work, and how important it is to train and practice our skills in order to better train others. What more could I ask for. Thanks guys, I had the most awesome experience!

I posted this on Kelly's just now and thought I would put it here too just in case.

SO, I have been thinking, Why doesn't CrossFit.com utilize the same technology for the daily WOD "comments" section everyday as Facebook or Twitter? I always see a bunch of people talking to each with @'s and such and kind of becoming friendish on here when posting WOD times that if we had the ability to "comment" on someone elses post directly it would be easier.

For instance, if a person is new to CrossFit and has a question, instead maybe thinking they were ignored (not knowing to scroll down and look for certain cues) some one could have the option to directly answer the Q's. This technology is definitely out there and have seen it on CrossFit Box websites (see Mayhem or CF New England) and just rinky dink Blog.

Just a thought. Love your work HQ!

44:54 on the WOD. If you can do one DU, you can do 50, it just takes longer. I suck at DUers, but I did them legit to stay Rx.

push press after back extensions is brilliant.

For time: RXd
50 Double unders- 0.35
50 Burpees- 4.06, kept moving, could have been a little faster but was early. Normally I can push and hold 15 per min, didn't hold that here.
50 Wall ball shots, 20 pound ball- 3.37 10-12-10-10-8, yah need to move faster here and do more of these.
50 Back extensions- = 2.09= 12-10-8-8-7-5...did these last as the only time the machine was open, yuck.
50 Push press, 45 pounds= =2.26 = 22-15-10-3, could have pushed a little harder here. Not a strength issue so much as wind.
50 Knees to elbows- massive time suck, grip strength and core = 5.04 = 12-10-8-6-6-4-2-2. Much tougher than toes to bar.
Walking Lunge, 50 steps = got some water in this one..2.08 not a problem.
50 Kettlebell swings, 1 pood = 3.02 grip strength, had to stretch wrists= 15-12-10-7-6
50 Jumping pull-ups- 2.00= 15-13-12-10
50 Box jump, 24 inch box= 2.44: step ups like in games with a little hop, felt good about this effort, 10 normal step ups, 30 at quicker pace, 10 just survived.
Total time = 27.56

as Rx with a few exceptions.
I did 50 single-unders
on the jumping pullups I used a 12 " box
I did 50- 24" box single leg step up/downs rather than jumps. My rebuilt ACL gets a little fired up with too much impact and I tweaked my calf doing sprint ladders a week ago so could not/ chose not to do the jumps. Gassed when done.

Subbed 20# thrusters for wallball, on rep #28 of box jumps (large, 30"? box) started daydreaming and busted my shin. Would have kept going but worried about getting in trouble for bloodying equipment: ~28 minutes. KTE and jumping pullups took forever.
