Ok,here is my question: I look at guys like Rich and Jason and the muscle mass they have. It is without question that they are the most incredible athletes in the world bar non, Are they building these incredible physiques doing Crossfit wod rx alone? are they supplementing with traditional body building? I am an avid Crossfitter, and for my age, have been able to exceed my peers physically. In the back of my mind I have aspirations of building a physique like them but i dont have time or the will to wander from the wod.
Ran 6 today. Honestly it felt good to "just run." ;)
@tlb, they workout multiple times each day (6+). Rich does heavy weights each day, including squats twice a week, DL once a week, and heavy cleans twice a week. Bench and press as well.

Rowed 5k. PR of 21:52 (previously was 23:53).
Then 3 rounds of 15 kettlebell swings 1.5 pood and 15 double-unders.
In honor of Pukie, Filthy Fifty:
On a beautiful upstate NY afternoon, in The Barn, whoop!
Also, I LOVE Stephanie Needham's story. Thank you!
My first rest day after 7 straight workout days...my body needs it!
#6/tlb, Gavin answered your question well...the guys in the CF games finals are all, essentially, either full time or part-time professional athletes. As taxing as a WOD may be, no way to get that fast/strong in 30 minutes a day.
Just reviewed yesterday's posts--lots of newbies posting, which is great to see. Also appeared to me that push ups were generally the weakest part of most of the scores. We do seem to do far fewer pushes (push ups, dips and bench) in CF than pulls (pull ups, cleans, deadlift, rows, etc.) Assume that's b/c the pull is a more functional movement.
Great story Stephanie!
