We need to outlaw kineseo tape next year at the games. A lot of athletes have bought into a medical gimmick that has exactly 0 research proven results, and it makes you look ridiculous.

Sunday is rest day for me. I'll tackle this tomorrow morning.

Saturday morning I did row 1000 m, run 600 m with 20 pound medball, 15 OHS at 95 pounds, 30 kettlebell swings with 1.5 pood.

@Ben (#3)

He didn't get that big and strong by doing crossfit. He does dedicated strength programs throughout the year. Metcons every day will do wonders for your conditioning, but certainly won't make you able to CJ 300+

it was great to see how the 3 guys with the best technique won that event. powerhouses yes, but the attention to their oly skills brought them to the top. it was really disheartening to see so many poor examples of the clean and jerk by our top level athletes, they should/would be able to put so much more weight up!

Every live event is available for free online at ESPN 3 or you can watch a replay of any event there. Below are the links. The women's sprint chipper should be coming on soon.

Then in a few weeks, all of the events will be played on ESPN.

Also, on the CrossFit games site, there are event summaries, interviews, update shows, etc.

Couldn't ask for more coverage.

@Joe Northside, saw your comment about how a break from towel pull ups would be nice. I feel the same way about regular pull ups right now.

@Carole and Kevin C., another good day for you both!

@Adam, nice work on your 3rd WOD. Keep at it. In a few weeks you'll look back at your first week and think, "I can't believe how much stronger I am now."

Not very happy with this at all. Grip was shot and only one bar so alternated pull up bar with my husband. Also babying a knee that I messed up yesterday so my mental game wasn't 100%. Will do better next time! Still hoping for no running tomorrow.

Comment #44 - Posted by: PadenW at July 28, 2013 2:32 PM

A programming question: I do a lot of subbing, both due to equipment and ability, including subbing whole WODs at times. So on Fri I did pullups, pushups, and squats. Sat I did Push Press, deadlifts, and box jumps. Arms and shoulders feeling pretty tired and sore after both.

So today comes up as pullups & push jerks...

Should I consider subbing something else to give my shoulders some relief? Or power through and look forward to rest tomorrow?

Bingo, wow...lots of conflicting emotions. Prayers to you as you celebrate and struggle at the same time.

Kevin C., very nice time!

Doing the half marathon row on Saturday put me off; I did Fran today as a weak man's sub for yesterday's WOD (watching Josh Bridges was unbelievable!) Results posted there, but a very satisfying PR, in the afternoon heat no less.

Depending on tomorrow's scheduled WOD, I may do this one in the morning.

Jim- Thanks! Congratulations on the Fran PR! Even more special on a hot day.

Comment #54 - Posted by: Kevin C. (M/54/5'11"/180) at July 28, 2013 4:29 PM

#42/Roger, its all up to you. CF frequently will supersaturate muscle groups for 3, sometimes 5 WODs in a row, then move on to something else. If you feel you have the strength/control to not injure yourself, go for it. If not, do something else.

#28/chris and 41/PadenW, I haven't seen anything on TV, but have been able to watch the games on my schedule via ESPN3 on the computer. Its been a blast to watch, and I think whoever devised this year's events (Dave Castro?) did a great job.

Watching this event reminded me of what separates the elite. In this case it is limiting rest. I couldn't believe how many times the athletes came off the bar- more than I did - but of course they shattered my time.
