Hope For Cures workout is today!

"Hope"

Three rounds of:
Burpees
75 pound Power snatch
Box jump, 24" box
75 pound Thruster
Chest to bar Pull-ups

"Hope" has the same format as Fight Gone Bad. In this workout you move from each of five stations after a minute. This is a five-minute round from which a one-minute break is allowed before repeating. The clock does not reset or stop between exercises. On call of "rotate," the athlete/s must move to next station immediately for good score. One point is given for each rep.

Add your points and post them to comments.

Kate
You are amazing, such an inspiration to so many people. I am doing "Hope" tomorrow and will be thinking about your journey to get me through it. After working in a Children's Cancer Center I have nothing compared to any of the children fighting this battle. Our strength comes from you!!! Honored to be part of the fight for HOPE.

OMG this was so hard!!!! This is my first day of a 30 day crossfit challenge I am doing for myself. I need to get back into training and I know I can commit to 30 days...I complete that then I'll do another 30 days..hopefully by then this will stick and I'll be on my way! I can't wait to get back into the groove and start feeling better about myself. I come from a gymnastics background so I really liked the sound of Crossfit when I looked into into it a few months ago. My goal is to one day compete and place! Here's to DAY 1 of Crossfit! Many more to come!!!

This is the fourth consecutive pullup workout. Why? I ripped a callus yesterday, which won't kill me, but does somewhat limit my ability to do pullups. This does make me question the main site programming, and I bet I'm not alone

@Angie #55, women's weight is what is posted. We all scale to what we need to do, regardless of sex or age. If you can't do 75, then do 65. If not that then 55 or 45 or 35. Whatever you need to do. Same principle applies to each of us.

Hey Chuck you are whining. Don't whine about Hero WOD's, and don't whine about charity WOD's trying to raise money to help cure sick kids. Not classy...... This was our first "event" at CrossFit Belmont, and was very successful. We had lot's of athletes donate to the cause, and suffer with us. Some even tore calluses, but we all felt that we'd done a little to help a lot! Thanks Coach, I think the programming is spot on. And thanks Kate for being a great ambasador for a fantastic cause!!!!!!!

Total: 202 (last time 203)

Bummer! More burpees last time, everything else stayed the same or improved. Round one was great, but in round two and three I couldn't box jump any more.
Key is to relax and maintain a steady pace. Could squeeze out a couple more burpees and pull-ups.
Next time I'll have to try and hit some numbers.

Last time (June 26, 2012):
Three rounds of:
-Regular pull-ups
-Box jumps
-Power snatch
-Burpees
-Thrusters

1: 22,16,12,14,12
2: 18,15,8,13,10
3: 16,14,6,13,6
Total: 195

This time:
1: 27,14,11,13,15 = 80
2: 21,13,8,13,12 = 67
3: 20,11,7,13,11 = 62
Total = 209

Thought there was no way I'd improve on last time today but I had the advantage of a better set up (this time at school gym, last time at WSC) and higher expectations. Totally done now.

Better than I thought. Had in my mind last time was 277. Felt like stomach had bricks in it due to huge lunch after 1 pm.Prob could've pushed harder if I'd known correct previous score. Forgot to chalk hands on PU which prob would've made a difference. Not good ROM on PU. Get thruster bar on delts - shoulders forward.
