The rings video was absolutely amazing.

Glassman once said (early CF Journal article on muscle-ups) that gymnastics movements are graded on difficulty from A to E, and that the muscle-up is the easiest grade (or perhaps so easy that it isn't even graded?).

This video puts it into perspective.

That ring video was amazing! I have been watching Jordan Jovtchev since he appeared on Sasuke over 10 years ago. Last year, he was in his sixth Olympics. Unmatched accomplishment by male gymnasts. He is really CrossFit!

@Mariah, per the FAQ it's best to sub tuck jumps for double unders if you can't do them. See FAQ 3.12.

Had a bad morning and could not string together more than two DU's in a row, so after the first round which took almost 4 minutes, three and a half of which were DU's, which was way longer than I needed and started feeling like a good rest, I went to singles at 3 to 1 for each DU. I did the last three rounds in less than 5 minutes.

I worked on DUs every day for 3 weeks before I got them. I couldn't do any, then I could do 1-1-2-1-1-2, and then it was 1-2-1-2, and then only DUs. Now they are relatively easy.

I'd encourage all those that can't do them to practice them for warm-up or skill before each WOD. If you do, it won't take you that long to master them.

Subbing single jumps is in no way equivalent to DUs. Probably 5 singles = 1 DU in terms of metcon.

Had something pretty cool happen during the wod: I was outside in the driveway slogging through one of those days where I just didn't have it-felt tired, burpees were were a mf'er, and I couldn't manage to string together more than 7 or 8 DU's. One of my neighbors walked by (never met him before this) saw what I was doing (or NOT doing) and asked if I was doing the main site wod. I half-barfed out a "yes" and he said, "If you don't mind a little pointer....jump more off the balls of your feet...." Voila!! Only got 5 rounds but learned a couple of things in the process:
It's always good to have a coach
No matter how long you've been doing something (7+ years) there's always room for improvement.

I have a new appreciation for the deconditioned athlete starting Crossfit or feeling overwhelmed because of their fitness status is below average. Much of what I preach when coaching others, "Scale appropriately", "Check your ego at the door", etc. I am having to practice more than ever due to fighting my way out of clinical depression. Let's be sure and encourage others that may feel overwhelmed by where they are versus where they would like to be. Community can make a difference!

got the work i wanted for a wod longer than 12-15 mins -- i don't do enough of those.

working out every other day -- just enough recovery time.

best dinner in a long time: organic pork liver, breaded lightly in almond flour, sauteed with a LOT of yellow sweet onions and some organic spinach. Cost $8 and change for all ingredients (2 from farmers market), tasted fantastic, and if liver's half as good for me as folks say...

here's to you mom for introducing me to liver & onions. only took me 35+ years to catch on ;)

Planning to go to Surf Camp for my summer vacation. Occurs to me that a burpee is not so different from moving from paddling to standing on a board. Maybe I shouldn't hate them so much.

Roger, I'm in AZ as well. I love my Rogue SR1. I use it so often that I have to buy a new wire every month, but it's only $6 for a wire from Rogue. Highly recommend it.

Skipping rope is a timing exercise, very little to do with strength or endurance. You might as well put free throw shooting on here.
