I have waited for this day forever. Rest Day or is it. Planning an active rest with 400m run,(4x100m sprints),and probably some light skill training i/e muscle ups or HSPU. Have a great day fellow athletes. Today it makes my 1st month doing crossfit. AND I LOVE IT!!!

I built an outdoor rig and was wanting to see if anyone has experience with leaving their rings outside. They are plastic. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Comment #8 - Posted by: Taylor at June 19, 2013 6:40 PM

I keep seeing these shirts--where do you buy one??

Comment #9 - Posted by: Dusty at June 19, 2013 7:06 PM

Could someone tell us where we can buy these black shirts?

Comment #10 - Posted by: xiaopxia at June 19, 2013 7:08 PM

@hollyhog - I think you are probably okay with plastic. I leave my metal rings out - they are under the deck, so somewhat sheltered, but they do get wet a bit when it rains hard. Have had them out there for awhile with no probs. I for sure would not leave wood rings out - but you should be good with plastic.

They are a special edition, limited run shirt made for Greg Glassman at his request by the Life AsRx team. They will reamin unbuyable for the foreseeable future. Sorry Guys.

Comment #12 - Posted by: IceTigerRx at June 19, 2013 8:23 PM

@hollyhog - I echo Mel/40m/5'10"/180's comments. I have had plastic rings under a deck where rain comes in for the last 6 months and they've not deteriorated at all.

It could be worth putting an extra sleeve over the point of friction (where the strap meets its support) if you're worried.

I made the mistake of reading the comments in WSJ article. I really should know better by now not to read comments posted on an online article.

I did, however, like some of the quotes of Ciena's CEO. His posit, that challenging himself physically/mentally with crossfit helps him to perform better in his stress-filled work environment, is one that I agree with.

I think my favorite thing about the WOD's everyday is that I push my limits physically and mentally. Every time I push through that threshold I grow as a person. I am more mentally tough, and more capable of handling stressful situations as a direct result of my "physical fitness" regimen. I guess in that sense it is much more than a physical fitness regimen. I think a more proper way of putting it would be that crossfit is a way of approaching life. The same principles that I apply in crossfit, constantly challenging myself and constantly improving, also apply to every other aspect of my life.

Love the shirt.
Reminds me of how much I miss the old Crossfit store. Nothing against Reebok, but I loved the old designs.
