Comment #16 - Posted by: Tom Barrie at June 16, 2013 6:23 PM

Totally loved level 1 cert at CrossFit TNT. Eric was hilarious and did a great job leading the class. Doug's use of "vernaculars" made everything so much easier to remember and fun. Joe was really great at explaining the concepts of CrossFit in a way that was easy to understand. Johnny was great at demonstrating the moves for us, he never seemed to even get tired! Bobbi helped me a lot with my form and is a total inspiration to CrossFit women like me. I was sad that class was over because I loved every second of it:)

Comment #25 - Posted by: JuliePlatt at June 16, 2013 8:33 PM

L1 @ TNT was a blast. Hard to teach that much information in two days but our guys did a great job. Chris Spealler got beat by Eric O'Connor in 2008 and Doug taught the snatch in 30mins effectively and efficiently - makes strange but applicable noises. Joe was down to earth and relatable, Bobbi was a southern firecracker with passion for the sport, and Jonny was a quiet but strict technique ninja. I appreciate their time and effort.

Pull ups were the hardest - disappointingly had to break each set of 20 into several sets. Not sure if it was the rower today or the pull ups yesterday that caused that.
And stepped back off the box. Happy to lose time to save the Achilles.

Comment #27 - Posted by: GRM at June 16, 2013 8:45 PM

Level One at TNT was astounding. Sorry the weekend had to end. Eric, Bobbi, Jonny, Doug and Joe -- you are all tremendously effective communicators and speakers. Good times, good times. Thank you for sharing your years of knowledge and experience. I hope to be using it soon. The enthusiasm you guys presented with makes me want to learn as much as possible. Great job!!

Awesome L1 @ CrossFit TNT in St. Charles!!! Huge thank you everyone, staff and students, and Rochelle @ TNT. Eric was a great Flowmaster. Carswell has a run for his money. Jonny was great demo man, always having a blast, wiping his feet. Joe. Happy Birthday, dude. Hope the enjoyed your milkshake, thank you for the extra pointers on muscle ups. Bobbi was a wealth of knowledge and Doug's colorful examples for verbal "encouragement" cues were perfect. Professional and fun. Thanks guys!

Comment #30 - Posted by: Matt Keel at June 16, 2013 9:56 PM

Gotta get a rower. I'm subbing an 800m run instead of rows. Should get me at about 4 minutes per run, which is what a good rower would do.

Doing 300 SDHPs is ridiculous. Results tomorrow.

CrossFit Basel CF1 course was outstanding. The entire team was outstanding. Rolan, Simon, Jami, Rob, Steve, Ramon, Fede, and Tina... You all are top shelf! Simon, great cues mid-WOD. It is a moment that has promoted synthesizing instructor cueing points. Rob, you quantified subject matter in a clear and concise manner, which made learning fun and engaging. Thanks for the 1:1 on T2B. The Finnish ninja, Jami, you melted my mind with your insight and knowledge... mad genius. Steve you were brilliant as flowmaster and summarizing overall points and concepts. Special thanks to you Ramon for snatch pointers and being a kickass host. I'll be out to your box after holiday. Tina, thank you for motivating and ramping up the intensity, much appreciated. Last but certainly not least, much appreciate to nosebleed Nolan! Thank you for the shared knowledge, dialogue (philosophical and otherwise), and positive reinforcement. It's valued and appreciated brother, as are you. Thank you EuroForce 2013. Phenomenal job! Thank you!

Total Crossfit beginner here. Didn't have a row machine so did SDHP(sumo dead-lift high pull) at 95 lbs. Which by the way sucked. 300 reps was way too much. Butterfly Pull-ups, and 20" box jumps for 32:20 total time.

Did 22:42 subbing 15 burpees for 30 box jumps(no box in gym. Glad to see it was hard for everyone, as it was hard for me. (it takes me about 1 min to do both 30 box jumps at 20 inches and 15 burpees so felt good about the sub.

I did a workout with Doug, that he programmed instead.

As rx'd, 17:50.

Nowhere to hide. Unbroken box jumps, but had to break pull-ups in rounds 2 (15-5) and 3 (12-8) - was struggling with grip of all things. Rows were about 1:55-2:00 pace. This was the burner I expected.

Both older boys did this with me - subbing about 4 minutes of SDHPs (with PVC pipe), jumping pull-ups, and box jumps (9" and 8", respectively). I encouraged them to take breaks during the SDHPs - but I was impressed that they stuck it out - that many SDHPs is pretty boring for a kid. Afterward, Ian (who claimed victory) asked if I could interview him, "like we saw on the computer". Guess I've been watching too much CF Games Regionals coverage.

Good on you #106/Kevin. Gettng to work out w/ one's kids is a treat that I also, occasionally, get to enjoy. If I was a whiner I could claim that my 15 year old daughter slowed me down a little on the rower today, as we were alternating. But in reality, she only kept me from meeting Pukie. I get to work out w/ my 16 y/o son occasionally as well.

And good on Doug, going to USAFA. I'm not a grad, but after 27 years in the AF and working w/ hundreds of academy grads, I have a warm place in my heart for the zoo.

The Level 1 Cert class hosted this weekend at NorCal CrossFit was truly amazing! All of the coaches were top notch and taught me so many new things that I am excited to bring back to my box! Again i would like to thank all of the coaches for all of your knowledge and for inspiring me to become the best coach that I can!

As rx'd

17:40

Row: 3:55, 4:04, 4:03
Butterfly pull-ups and box jumps unbroken.
Doing the box jumps it's so important to touch and go on the floor explosively and rest only on top of the box if needed. Utilizing muscle elasticity makes them so much easier and faster.

Good effort today. My strategy was to do 6:00, 6:30 and 7:00 rounds to stay sub 20 minutes, but I surprised myself and held round 1 pace all the way.

Pretty pathetic. Using bad eating as mental excuse for not going hard on WODs. Last 2 row rounds pretty bad. Didn't keep pace below 2:00/500 on those rounds. At least BJ not too tough w/20" box.
