You folks at CrossFit don't even know how to use a Bowflex.
I didn't see one piece of clothing hanging on it . And you even brushed the dust off of it for the shoot. Shame on you! Ha!

Shoulder to overhead means any method, including push press or jerk?

There's a link to the explanatory video for this entire workout, located above the WOD description. These videos are really helpful. Thanks HQ!

@?/#6 and Nick/#12, my guesses are it's because of that saying, "Keep your enemies closer," or maybe motivation to keep moving in the face of the enemy? But if that's the case they could have put a big target on his face just to make that message clear. Again, just my guess.

The people who finish this workout in time are gods among mere men. I understand that there is a 15 minute time cap on this workout. I scaled the weights down to 95 pounds and only did 27 handstand push-ups. Still only got it in 18:53. I don't know if I just wasn't up for it today or what. But I'll recover from this. Just a tough day, learned a bit about myself from this workout. That's why I love this sport.

Anybody have a method for translating barbell weight to DBs? (In the sense that two 80 lb dbs tend to feel mich heavier than 160 lb varbell) I can just guesstimate but curious if there is a general guideline out there.

did 200 single unders, T2B were hardly regulation, and did forward stepping lunges but could not walk it out as lack of space (did 24 total lunges; that was what I paced out for 90 feet).

did this after doing the 3-2-2-2-1-1-1-1-1 squat from the other day.

Comment #34 - Posted by: Miles Forks at June 1, 2013 10:47 AM

30:28 Heavily scaled due to an old shoulder injury.

I broke it into 5 sets.
Jump tucks for double unders, I did a military press with 85 lbs instead of Handstand pushups on the last two sets, knees to elbow instead of toe to bar, shoulder to overhead and lunges, did the first set with 135, then the next two sets with 105, and the last two with 85.

Buh. Phew. Damn.

What's up with all the knee sleeves in the games? Is there some frailty of the human body that does not support the weight these guys are doing, or are that many athletes getting injured? Totally not being judgmental, just wondering why so many in them.

In the video the athlete didn't even do a single real handstand pushup.

Kipping should never be allowed for handstand pushups and is downright dangerous to do so if you can't control your own bodyweight with slow and steady movements.

Pretty proud of this - needed a new jump rope, but I was determined to do this workout, since I knew I was up for the challenge. I used a freaking extension cord, and earned myself two awesome blisters, but I did all 100 double-unders.

I modified the handstand push ups by jacking the olympic bar up to a high setting, and bracing my feet on it - nearly vertical, and I did every single one of 'em for my first try at 'em!

LOVED this workout!
