Help me out, the standards for 13.4 say the bar must make contact with the shoulders for the clean...so the bar must touch the shoulder or it's a no rep?
What is an athlete doesn't have the flexibility to get that range of motion but is close to touching their shoulder?

We are supposed to be "forging elite athletes" not acting like we have never felt the pain of a challenging workout. Elite athletes have felt pain before and handle it with dignity, not rolling around on the ground like a wounded animal.

Great video Sara! I'm glad to see all is well in VB and at CF Takeover. Thanks for starting my CrossFit journey back at Odyssey. Listening to the video brought back memories of getting yelled at by my old coach. Keep up the great work!

Awesome.
I used to think the sprawled-out on the ground photos were silly. Then I started doing CrossFit.
It doesn't happen every time, but there are moments when you give it your all and that's about all you can do.

Fetal position is a nice touch.

M/ 39/ 135 lbs/ 5'-6"
I did Open WOD 13.4 this morning before work for 60 reps
7 Minute AMRAP of:
3 C&J with 135 lbs
3 Toes to Bar
6 C&J
6 T2B
9 C&J
9 T2B
keep on going until 7 mins. are up.
I did this one before work at Tribeca EA Club because it has a good bar for T2B. I ws a bit sore and a little tired but no big deal.
I completed the 12th rep of T2B giving me a score of: 60
In the set right before, I wzs planning on starting the WOD, but pinched my neck on the 1st rep... took a few minutes and then restarted. I felt it a bit but figured it would probably feel worse tomorrow so I better get it out of the way if I was able to so I did.
I think if I had bumper plates it would have been faster since I would have been able to just drop it and go and that would have saved some energy. I was hoping for 70 reps but not to be... toes to bar were not bad at all...
GRIP was KILLED after this WOD... I liked the format and the short time makes you have to push with very little rest... for me this is a C&J WOD.. with a bit of a taxed grip part. I'll do this again some time down the road... fun.. short and hard.

I dont understand why people make rude comments about this photo. I work very hard and this is the first time I have competed in the open. Isnt the crossfit community supposed to support each other? I think it is an amazing photo and I am very proud of the work that I have put in to this sport.

13.4 - 60 reps. Very soon after I started the second round I realized Spealler might have me beat on this one. My next goal was to finish the 12 reps with 40 seconds left so I can get through the TTB's with any last bit of energy I had left. I got the feeling back in my forearms after 6 minutes.

Work-Rest cycle slightly askew due to work/travel/schedule, so having access to pull-up bar only today & doubtful access/time tomorrow, did Hero WOD "Murph":
For time:
Run 1 mile
100 pull-ups
200 push-ups
300 squats
Run 1 mile
Time - 49:42

Did 13.4, got thru 3 T2B in the round of 15. Total reps = 78.

I'm disappointed with the result, but not the effort. T2B was the easier of the two - perhaps unexpectedly - unbroken through 9, then 8-4. Tried to pace C&J as best I could - unbroken through 6, then sets of 3 and eventually a lot of singles. I was hurting pretty good from the round of 12 on - actually caught myself wondering if this would be the WOD I would meet Pukie. Hit the round of 15 with not quite 2 minutes left, but just could not go any faster. Got to the 15 T2B with about 10 seconds left. Another 20 seconds and I might have been able to knock them out. Still a fun WOD.

21-15-9 of lh 35# kbs Russian, 18" box jump, ohs 2-handed with hockey stick = 5:44

W/u foam roll back and legs, spider walk, yoga pushups, 5x kbs, box jumps, ohs

C/d tabata l-sit progression

Went fairly hard at this short wod with brace on right arm. Felt good. Limited right arm flexion, full extension, zero bicep strength 5 weeks post-surgery

Maybe you've never reached that point of pain or exhaustion that leaves you curled up on the floor waiting for it to pass enough to be able to sit up, never mind stand up . . . If you have & have been able to play it off with a smile then good for you, but don't denigrate the rest of us who have from time to time found ourselves feeling like a "wounded animal" & acting like it until the moment passed . . .
