What weight would you recommend girls adjust to?

Comment #2 - Posted by: Val at March 12, 2013 8:07 PM

Are the walking lunges with the bar overhead, or on shoulders and back?

Comment #3 - Posted by: Greg Fairbanks at March 12, 2013 8:07 PM

this one took me almost 12 mins last time

Comment #4 - Posted by: Khemeran Ing at March 12, 2013 8:26 PM

10:07 with 115 pounds. This is my first week of Crossfit.

Comment #5 - Posted by: Remington at March 12, 2013 8:34 PM

Greg- I put the bar on my back and shoulders for lunges.

Do we switch hands for the farmer carry? I've never done these before. Thanks!

Comment #6 - Posted by: Aaron at March 12, 2013 8:36 PM

What would be the best way to set this up? Looks like there will be some running involed

Comment #7 - Posted by: Gav at March 12, 2013 8:37 PM

#5 one barbell in each hand

Comment #8 - Posted by: Gav at March 12, 2013 8:39 PM

Why did you stop posting the WOD Demo's and will they be coming back?

Comment #9 - Posted by: Lon at March 12, 2013 8:39 PM

For women weight suggestions go to the left menu looking for "Start Here" then select "BrandX Scaled Workouts" from here go to CrossFit WOD and select Wednesday.

You made it!

Comment #13 - Posted by: Roger at March 12, 2013 10:12 PM

Womens weight is 0.7ish of Rx

Comment #14 - Posted by: Jason Miller at March 12, 2013 11:17 PM

Bar on shoulder for the lunges, sub dumbbell for barbell if you only have 1 bar

Comment #15 - Posted by: Jon at March 13, 2013 12:00 AM

@ #11...Women's weight is 0.7 of Men's RX..lol. No need to introduce gender based income disparity to this discussion. Why many Crossfit Women are kicking my ass daily! But I am doing this as RX'd..

Scaled to 65/45#

9:34

Only had a minute to look at this one before heading to the gym... accidentally did the walking lunges overhead as well, and only used one barbell in the deadlift position for the farmer carry.

Comment #21 - Posted by: Joe Northside m/34/70"/210 at March 13, 2013 4:50 AM

not sure how long I did this one. I accidentally hit the stop button at 11:43 and I am not sure if that might have happened during or when I was finished with my routine. I started out with 135# overhead and lunges and did the 95# barbell farmers walks. Then the next two rounds I dropped to 95# for Overhead and lunges. I should have dropped to 115# but I miscounted and forgot about 35# plates for some reason. I hope to do better next time. I also know that with the overhead bar and the farmers walk that I had to switch out the weights one of the barbells to do the farmers walk at the beginning and if that continued through three round would have really cost me. Prep time for this was more than the routine itself.

What kinds of gyms (other than Crossfit gyms) do you guys belong to? For the life of me, I can't figure how I'd get away with taking the bar and some plates outside so I can walk 50 yards with them. Do most people do these at home?

Comment #26 - Posted by: scott at March 13, 2013 6:29 AM

I don't have two barbells...or two dumbbells that weigh 95 pounds. Any suggested subs?

To #25 I work out at home. If you figure that the CF gym is 36 miles away and cost $100.oo a month to belong and gas is $3.55 a gallon. You could buy in time what you need and save money. If you have a place to do so.

Comment #31 - Posted by: Noah at March 13, 2013 7:28 AM

Removing weights, bars, dumbbells from the gym at work is forbidded, so I'll be looking for a WOD that I may have missed in the past two weeks or so... or maybe a Hero WOD for today.

Comment #32 - Posted by: fargingbastige at March 13, 2013 7:52 AM

i don t have the space to do this kind of exercise , there is a way to sub?

Comment #33 - Posted by: simon at March 13, 2013 7:55 AM

I plan on doing this outside. I can clean and jerk the 185 bb for the overhead walk, but getting it onto my shoulders for the lunges might be difficult. I'll give it the college try, hoping my shoulders don't pop out of socket when I'm lowering it to my back.

Comment #34 - Posted by: Kris at March 13, 2013 7:56 AM

Using 40 KG for the overhead walking and lunges
2 24 KG kettlebells for the farmers carry

6:47 ~ probably could have gone heavier, but I was looking for something quick and dirty. This was an interesting exercise, good stability workout.

Holy Moly!! That was a horrible WOD!! haha....but AWESOME at the same time!

Traps, Butt, and core in bits!

This was a hard one for me as I work out in a small Hall which is only 15m apart! Being in scotland the weather outside was awful!
So Had to space to sets of racks 10m apart and work up and down for 5 times, racking and push presses each time!...Yes i did do 30 push presses extra in that session! WOW!!PLUS having to deadlift the farmers handles an extra 15 times! :)

Completed the session in....14.37min

If i had a straight run at it then reckon i could have halfed the time!....excuses! eh?
Cant wait for the WOD tomorrow!

M/ 39/ 135 lbs/ 5'-6"
I don't usually write something like this, but this WOD is a bit crazy.. it will require a minimum of (6) 25 lb plates, (2) 45 lb plates, and (2) 45 lb bars + 4 collars... and a track or clear open space to do a lot of walking with weights in a variety of positions.
For me, this is WAY too heavy. I would probably use 135 or 145 for the OH walk and walking lunge, while the 95 lbs per bar is heavy but not insane.
I feel like the weights listed are WAY too heavy for almost everyone, minus a VERY select few... and this would require way too much gear for each person, so a box would have a hard time with this WOD as well.. really, the only people who could do this WOD are super strng well equipped garage gym people and super strong box owners/ trainers... or during an Open time at a box.. but a larger community would have a lot of difficulty being able to do this. Just my opinion.. and that's what this is for right?
p.s. I do everything except Isabele as Rx, so this is not just because I'm light.

First round i did the Farmers walk with both barbell at 135 (225# total) which took forever. That is when i reread the WOD and noticed i was way over doing it, so to make up time i switched to my 2 kbells which were much easier.

Also had the FED EX guy pull up to the house and started cheering me on, which was a first.

#26 I do these workouts at the YMCA...

I pulled all the weights into the racketball court and subbed out the barbells for dumbells. I think it is okay as long as noboday sees you do it!

#35 lwg agree this can be a great stability workout. especially if you use one arm.

3 weeks post-right biceps tear repair, so scaled this mightily and used left arm only while right arm came along for the fun in a brace + sling. done in front yard.

3 rft of left hand only:

50# kb overhead walk 50m
35# kb on back-rack lunges 25m
50# kb lh farmers carry

7:35

oh that 3rd round of overhead walks did burn all up and down the left shoulder-arm-hand...

back-rack of a kb is great for wrist - forearm - shoulder flexibility -- elbow ends up really high. felt like it might help with front squat position.

Anybody know who owns the image from today's WOD? Beautiful, artsy image.

Mostly as rx'd, not timed.
First round bailed on lunges (off back) halfway through. Did the remainder of 1st and 2nd rounds as front lunge. 3rd round scaled to 135 on back.
Farmer carry with 35lb plates on carry bar (wt unknown).

25:29.3

75# DBs on the farmer walk
185# on the first round for the others
155# on the second and third round

probably would have been a lot better had it not been so windy and walking on an incline sloping toward the side.
