What are the substitutions for handstand walking? They're not in FAQs. I can do them in a swimming pool, but not in regular air.

On the square, do you do each leg, then start on your second set or just do left 30, then on 2nd round do right 30

Bucks Gym has some great homemade equipment. Does anyone have plans for a monkey bar set up like he had. It looked really sturdy and I would love to put one in my backyard. Thanks.

Would like to mention that Buck's Gym has always been FREE. Our "members" aren't charged a dime, just asked to bring water :)

I've seen subs for handstand walks as kick-ups to a wall hand-stand. 1 kick-up=1m. Hope that helps.
Buck can put up whatever pictures he wants. Pretty sure anyone who includes pictures of Obama AND Reagan is doing it out of respect rather than any particular political viewpoint
Anyone in the Pittsburgh, PA area interested in setting up something similar to Bucks Gym? I have been thinking about this for a long time and that video was my motivation.

In regards to the picture, working out on the sidewalk seems a bit inconsiderate and almost arrogant.
Bucks gym is amazing. I agree is better than any gym that I have ever seen . I live in Los Angeles and I have seen quite a few Crossfit Gyms.
I can not believe he does not charge a monthly fees. Does he still have to pay the $3000 a year to Crossfit?

I am thinking to sub handstand walk with handstand hold for 30 sec. Is it a good idea?
Good sub for Hand stand walk. Feet on a box. Person in pushup position, walk yourself into a pike position. Maybe 5 = 15 metres.
Still too hard? Try the pushpike/catterpillar. Touch your toes, and then walk yourself out on your hands.

So just on my usual morning walk lol...a buddy of mine told me a little story yesterday at the gym, he saw some guy at the local GNC, all decked out in Crossfit gear, and he asked my buddy, "do you know if there's a Crossfit gym around?" My friend replied, "yeah, downtown on ____ St., they've got lots of equipment there, a nice range of kettlebells...", and the guy then asked him, "what are kettlebells?" :-O !! My friend didn't really know what to say after that. But anyhoo, I thought it was funny lol

did the runs fine, but not fast, just steady.
The handstand I did with a TRX attached to a tree. I hung my feet in the stirrups and then backed away from the tree with my hands till I was either standing on my hands or as vertical as I could go then held it for 30 Mississippi's. The single leg squats I was unsure of at the time, I did 30 total the fist time, the second time I did 30 each leg. Then it dawned that they did not state 30 each. Next time I will be faster and hopefully a little better at the handstand.
i'm a buck's gym regular and he is the real deal. who cares about his politics? he has spent untold thousands of dollars to let hundreds of people come to his house for FREE. even though we don't vote the same, he treats us all like family and has my utmost respect. more of us should be so selfless and maybe the political climate would look differently.

The "anit-politics" people just can't help themselves. I noticed the pics in the background of Dr. Buck's interview and thought it was really interesting. You probably couldn't find two more diametrically opposed (politically) Presidents to have on your walls. It made me curious as heck about Dr. Buck and want to talk to him even more. Not the two guys I'd have on my walls, but so what?
And what an awesome. f^$%&*ing. gym.
That is simply amazing. Who wouldn't want to have that in their back yard? And now he's got a community of friends coming over to get fitter and enjoy friendship together. Living the dream (I love that a neurosurgeon built the two GHDs).

It's alternating single-leg squats that add to 30? Damn. I used bands for support, but apparently I did 60 reps in the first round then. This makes me feel better about not squatting during the second round. My fat ass wasn't about to one-leg squat another round of that.

Buck's gym has been a fantastic experience. There is no better venue in which to do these challenging WOD's! Exercising outside only serves to enhance the entire CrossFit experience. I highly encourage those of you considering building similar gyms. Buck's gym sets the standard for Crossfit style gyms.
This is what recruited me 2 years ago as a Crossfit participant for life. Kudos to Coach Buck!!

Bucks Gym is now an affiliate going by the new name, Little Harpeth CrossFit. As a regular since before we started doing CrossFit, I can tell everyone, there are no fees, just ask that you bring water once a month.
As for the two presidents,for me they represent balance, something we all strive for in all areas of life.
Also, a Denver police officer, Mike, deserves the credit for bringing Buck's attention to CrossFit.

Allen Buck has singlehandedly gotten more of us docs in Nashville back into shape than all the Ys and globogyms combined. Several of us have gotten our own L1 certs as a result. He's one of the most giving people I know and loves every minute. I won't give away his politics, but the president seen on the left in the video was a gift from someone trying to balance out the rest of the decor at "The Barn" not shown on the video. Check out "Little Harpeth Crossfit".
Buck's gym is the best environment in which to complete a WOD. What can be better than enjoying the great outdoors while improving your physical fitness? I encourage those of you who have been contemplating creating similar gyms in your own backyards. This beautiful gym convinced me 2 years ago to join the CrossFit community and I have been hooked ever since. Kudos to Coach Buck for creating an ideal fitness and health gym!

Many thanks to CrossFit for making me world famous! I am extremely grateful to them and all the kind comments that have been made.
We are a CrossFit affiliate now and changed our name to Little Harpeth CF after the river that runs through the place. We don't charge any fees except requiring guys to bring H20, although many items that we have were donated or constructed by members. The video is actually 6 months behind and the gym is MUCH improved over what is seen.
I'm not bragging, but this place is unbelieveably fabulous. My only regret is that I can't invite the whole world to come and see it and workout with us.
About the Presidents...The pictures are actually 3D works of art that a gym member gave to us. I couldn't refuse them. After all, we are a private, non-profit, free affiliate and we have no restrictions as to freedom of expression. Please note who is on the right and who is on the left.

Thought I did OK on 1st 3 400's. Last one pretty slow. HS walks decent. Good weight shift from side to side. Kristin held fee. Pistols slow but OK. Get body weight shifted to leg & keep leg under hip helped. ROM not real good on rt leg b/c of prior injury.
