Stupid. Did two wods in one day. Squat cleans and box jumps at 5:00 and then this nightmare at 8:00.
No pullup, thats just how high you should shoot to jump for each burpee. Fingers tap the pullup bar.
I believe Jorbis5 is mistaken.
Burpee pull-ups are a burpee finished by an actual pull-up, you jump up into the pull-up, not just tapping the pull up bar..

I did this a while ago and got confused on the rep scheme. 150 burpee pull-ups later I was feeling pretty awful. But completed it in 25 mins. As you can imagine the last 50 were brutal.

I've done this Wod twice before and make the burpee section incorporate a strict push up for as many reps as possible. Actually trying to explode out of the bottom position to return back onto my feet. Really maximises the overall benefits.
Done the Wod twice at the local park moving the kids swings out to the side and using the horizontal bar. Feels like a lot higher than 1 foot above!
Great WOD, one that really gets the nerves going before starting!

What a nice workout! 17:40 minutes, then 5 min pause, then i did 3 rounds of 60 doubleunders, 30x6kg ball slams and 15 abmat sit-ups, in 6:50 minutes! :D

had to jump to rings since bar was fixed at low height.
My garage ceiling is 9', and the pull-up bar is about even with my outstretched arms. Suggestions for substituting for the 1-foot jump?

Burpees Carl Paoli style. To beat 12 minutes, I'll need to set a timer at 72 seconds and get 10 reps in each of those intervals. Todays average was 10 reps every 75 seconds.
Pull ups is one of my biggest weakest points.

PR is 13:00. Jump height makes a big difference over 100 reps; thought the demo vid should've addressed that as part of the wod standards.
Sorry - I'm new to CrossFit and am LOVING it! Unfortunately, the closest box is over 50 miles away, so I'm working out alone in my garage. Just wondering what "RX'd" means. Waiting for lunch to settle, then going for this WOD!

Been doing crossfit for 3 months. Finished at 16 minutes. Very painful but rewarding.

Bar was only slight above reach, so grabbed and started from dead hang each rep (i.e. no jumping pull ups)

10:20 although the pullup bar was at my outstretched finger tips. I came out of the burpee into strict pullups since the bar was right there.

Nothing was difficult at this slow pace, but I couldn't make a smooth jump to the bar for the pullup. I definitely have trouble focusing on one bar when there are several facing the same direction around it (I have MU bars suspended above the built in power rack pullup bar), so rather than miss several more times and chance breaking yet another body part (no more broken fingers, toes or spines for me please), I had to reset after each burpee then jump for the pullup.
As rx'd 11:56. PR by a little over a minute!

One of the most brutal yet. First time in a while where I couldn't get up for a few minutes after finishing. However I did drop 4 minutes off my time from last time. Its amazing what doing crossfit with someone else can do for your time.
