Push press rx'd 50

pace yourself on this one the 10 sec rest feels like no rest at all

Comment #8 - Posted by: Justin. at September 7, 2012 6:40 PM

no, 75 should be the women's rx weight

Comment #9 - Posted by: Ryan at September 7, 2012 6:41 PM

IMHO, if you're push pressing before the final reps of the last set, you need to scale. Go 95 lbs for both and just burn it out.

Comment #10 - Posted by: Scale at September 7, 2012 7:00 PM

Is anyone getting shoulder pain from all this cleaning and barbell pressing???

@comment #12 the movement is push press, so not sure what you are saying. I think you mean if you start to push jerk you should scale.

How do people keep count of the reps when training alone ?
Was writing them down on a whiteboard last time I did tabata, but it took about 10 seconds to do, so think it was slowing me down a bit..

Comment #17 - Posted by: Jean at September 8, 2012 12:19 AM

Is this an 8 round of tabata or a 16 round? I realize it's 8 rounds but then they gave two exercises meaning 8 rounds of both in an alternating fashion or 8 rounds and they showed the firt two?

Comment #27 - Posted by: gb 45/m/71"/185# at September 8, 2012 5:23 AM

@26 - 8 rounds... just ignore the fact that it is in Tabata intervals = 8 minutes of working where you do "4" exercise in each round, 2 of them just happen to be sucking wind rather than a movement ;-)

Looks like fun but my rack position sucks and that will be key here. Just started Crossfit a couple of months ago and havent got it ironed out yet (advice?).
I am running mon-fri schedule and will have to wait till one of next weeks rx rest days to try it. I cant do that weight yet but I've lost about 100 lbs over the last year (just eating paleo, no crossfit), so I believe firmly in progression especially starting from way behind.
The scores I see people post are inspiring and mine arent as impressive but they are my best and I have to start somewhere.
Great job guys!

If push jerking at that weight, scale.

Also, I would try this WOD doing all of one movement as a tabata, resting 1 minute, and then all of the second movement as a tabata. Much harder I think.

I am new, explain this to me please.

Eight rounds for max reps of:
115 pound Hang power clean, 20 seconds
Rest 10 seconds
115 pound Push press, 20 seconds
Rest 10 seconds

The way I understand is to do the hang PC for max reps in 20 sec, then take a 10 sec break. Then do the PP for amx reps in 20 sec, then a 10 sec break. Repeat until all 8 rounds are comlete.

Is that correct?

Did this about a week ago. Rx'd.

HPC Total: 48
Push Press Total: 40
Total of both: 88

rx'd

48 on the HPC (first 3 rounds and a couple other rounds were 6 and 7. otherwise, a straight 5)

43 on the PP (first 2 and one other round at 6, otherwise straight 5)

Total 91

Form on PP was getting very sloppy, surpised I didn;t pull something.

Smoked, but not overly so as I was trying to pace myself throughout. Wirsts were taking a beating, and forearms were burnign up by the end.

Tried to keep arms straight on cleans. Think it was better than last clean WOD. PP tough, but better when I got good breath & tried to rotate feet outwards while on floor before dip to engage IT.

Ran out of gas on the push press in the last 2 rounds. Great WOD.
