After the squats yesterday and burpees/SDHP today, I do not think I'll be able to walk Wednesday after this WOD. Let's get to it!

Question for some of the more experienced Xfitters: How can I do thrusters without hurting my wrists so badly. My wrists are killing me now from being bent back so far. I feel like I need to bend them down the other way to stretch them back. What am I doing wrong?

So.....I thought I did well until Jeff (53yo/m) showed me off and did it in 9;38. Sure, he did 75# and not 95#, but still! Then, I realized where I had failed. My strategy was all wrong. You see, I just powered through the first 15 or so and got burnt fast. He did 10 reps then rested 20 sec or so, then continued. I'll be ready for next time. It's the art of war, or rather, the art of WOD! " Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat.

Paced this out at 15 reps per minute, which made this similar to a tabata workout. I think the pacing was about right, as I was able to complete the reps each time, but I certainly did not feel fresh at the top of the minute. Did the reps 15 / 15 / 15 / 15 / 12-3 / 10-5 / 5-5. Just hanging on there at the end.

#71, b. Sounds like your elbows are pointing down while trying to keep the bar on your shoulders. That will put undue stress on our wrist. Work on keeping your elbows up (making a shelf) on the front squat and resting the bar on your shoulders instead of allowing your wrist to hold the weight the entire time. I think this will help but someone else might have a better answer.

First time doing thrusters ever! Could have done it faster the first 40 I held the bar too long causing my shoulders to fatigue quickly... The last 60 I did a more consistent quicker motion which made it much easier to rest and go faster!!!

I did a different WOD early this morning: (I will hit this WOD some time this weekend or early next week. - especially since thrusters are a kind of weakness for me... so I'm doing lots of associated movements)
I did the Bear Complex of: Power Clean, Front Squat, Push Press, Back Squat, Push Press from behind x 5 - WITHOUT LETTING GO OF THE BAR FOR ALL 5 CYLCES
For me, this was a really early WOD and I was tired, but the weights felt fine. I held back because it was early and I was not super warm.
Not much of a warm up again because I wanted to bang this out pretty quickly and get back home to get the kids ready.

All weights felt fine... it was my grip that was really a factor at all. I did them mostly as is allowed as a full squat clean, into a thruster, then get set up for a back squat and then pop up into the PP out of the squat. since the weights are super light for a back squat, that's where I would rest and get a little breath to then go right back into the next movements again.
I did all these with no wrist wraps or belt, etc.
I should go for at least 125 or 130 next time... goal is BW of 135. for a 5 set of the Bear.

I am unable to do the press from the rack position. I am supporting the weight with my shoulders the entire time. Any suggestions? I power clean all the time into a comfortable rack, but can't press from there....
