Nice to see some big time competitors from good ole' Texas!
Can you sub something for the runs for those of us without access to a barbell and track in the same facility?
I too have discovered the joy of a "wall ball/thruster" in the pool with my 35lb 4yr old this summer.
If these guys are struggling, I can only imagine what I will be feeling tomorrow

If we don't have access to a track and barbells at the same time, what could you sub for the running?
@5...go to mapmyrun.com you can create a map around your house/block and it will give you mileage totals. I love it and use it everyday. Might have to do alittle math :)

You could row or jumprope. They are not quite the same but they are cardio.
If I didn't have access to both at the same time, I would find some dumbbells, a plate, a kettlebell, or load up a backpack or something and use that for my thruster. However, I will be using lighter weights than on CF main.

I never realized who long it takes me to put 135# and more over my head but I RX'd that one with a brake down of 3x-135,5x95,10x65.

I rx'd everything... but that first set of 135 lb thrusters killed me for the rest of the workout. I maybe should have done less weight, but I knew I was capable of doing it if I stayed with it. My wrists also hurt a lot while doing my first set of thrusters, needless to say it didn't help my time.
Other than that, great workout!
#13 Sometimes the crossfit workouts are more than enough exersize for the day, depending on the person. Many times I will finish the workout, and then work on form for the olympic lifts, or practice double unders, or work on the things that I don't excel at yet. Today, I did the wod in 12:35, then I worked out for an hour after doing knees to elbows, curls, tricep kickbacks, pullups, back extensions, and squats. Just depends on where you want to be. For me, I feel the more I work on form, and the things I'm not great at, the better I perform, and the better my time is. Go at your own pace, depending on where you want to be. Took a little extra time changing out weight, also walking up & down the stairs to the track. rode the bike to the globo and back a mile each way. Didn't realize the tires were pretty mush flat. Made for an interesting ride.
My back was really tightening up on the last 400 meters. ran/walked 3.3 miles yesterday on the rest day.
Can't wait to take the cert in October. Although I'm terrified about the written part. Wish my respiratory endurance was better. I just keep plugging away. Currently there is no way in hell I'll make it past the Open next year.

I did a different WOD last night.. or rahter... I did Everything in the kitchen sink at a friend's gym.. they had a freakin DJ in the gym.. cool and weird... SUPER GLOBO GYM.. I was showing my friend the rings and some basic movements and about 15 minutes into it we were asked to take the rings down.. the metal bar we had them on was not approved to hold my wieght (I weight about 135 lbs wet)FUNNY.
I started with a decent warm up with the jump rope and the rings
I was at my friends gym and showing him some moves.
We ended up doing 8 rounds (with 40 lb DBs) of 5 DL, 5 power cleans, 5 PP all on the minute, usually done in a bout 18 secs or so. Good pace and all movements felt fine.
We did some burpee pullups (3 sets of about 12-15) and some HSPUs
We did a bunch of pullups, and then I found the olympic lifting station... they had bumper plates!!
I did some FS, then did a bunch of C&J in something like: 95 lbs x 10, 115 lbs x 8, 135 lbs x 6, 145 lbs x 4, 3 sets of squat cleans 155 lbs x 4. Stretched out and went home.. TOO MUCH STUFF

Tried to do 1st set unbro. No dice. Stopped after 11. Lost quite a bit if time due to that break. Did runs on TM which helped to force pace. Tech on thrusters seemed pretty good. Feet not too wide & hips going back pretty well.
Had to change bar from 95 to 65 so that effected time a little.
Could only do 1 thruster at 135#. :-(

Pretty happy to get done with that first round of thrusters. Had to break it up into 5-4-3-3. Probably could have cut down on the rests in the other sets and pushed a little harder on the row but good WOD overall.
