WOD Demo with CrossFit Mission Gorge by Again Faster Equipment - video [wmv] [mov] [HD mov]

This is def going to be one of those harder then it looks wod
You learn never to take the easy looking WODs for granted. I you do you'll be very surprised. LOL!!!! Can't wait to attack it in the morning.
Are the burpees demo'd correct? I thought you had to stand somewhat erect at top with hip extension?
In the demo video was the time posted for all 5 rounds? and if so Do you do this more than once?
CrossFit Games throwback WOD!
This was one of my first WODs from back in '08. Can't wait to crush my time! (Still can't do the Rx'd weight, though...)
I agree with # 2... Burpees looked sloppy in video, didn't stand up the whloe way on jump. I didn't even think some of the DLs looked correct. Maybe I'm just picky? Looks like a good WOD though...
Great choreography in the video - my favorite part was when the coaches demonstrated an incomplete burpee followed immediately by the guy doing exactly what they said not to do! Good explanation of technique including common mistakes, but nobody in the video can do a burpee properly! Was this a parody?
My glutes are already sore from those overhead lunges today. The deadlifts are gonna add some more pain to the legs. looks fun though. definitely one of those harder than it looks. Those damn dreaded burpees.
The burpees were definetly poor form. Not a good demo...

Started with 183lbs and made it through first three rounds almost with that weight until I realized I'd gone a bit too heavy/lost my form and tweaked my trap a bit. Took weight down to 153 to finish the workout. Didn't bother to time after my hiccup in rd 3. For the most part felt good, burners weren't that terrible today by some miracle.

Greetings from Haifa, Israel!
As rx'd, 3:56.
Fast and fun. Deads felt great, burpees felt slow. Probably could have tried to push faster through those. Also took too much rest at the beginning of round 2. Still, I was feeling it at the end. Fastest round was round 1 (37s); slowest was round 2 (53s).
Sunday musings...
1) Potato. I am traveling home from the "Great Potato Dig" during which Mrs. bingo's family...wait for it...digs potatoes.
This proves conclusively that it really does not matter what you do as long as family does it together.
2) Inner voices. From an anthropologist yesterday: "Our 'inner voice' speaks 70-120,000 words each day. That's a lot of noise."
It's a wonder we ever hear anyone else.
3) Summit. Sometimes the smartest person in the room is you. These are not really terribly fruitful or productive learning opportunities, by and large. Nice, of course, especially if the other folks in the room tell you how smart you are. But not terribly helpful in moving you forward.
I spent the better part of yesterday listening to really smart people talk about the stuff that they are really smart about. I didn't really have much to add; I walked away measurably smarter, way net positive on the knowledge exchange, in return for not much more than keeping quiet.
Eyes and ears open, ego and mouth closed.
4) Genius. We are constantly told of all the wondrous things computerization and automation can do that we humans cannot do, or cannot do as well. What we DO do better, though, is patten recognition. Everything from identifying things visually (a computer can barely recognize a Chihuahua as a dog, let alone differentiate a Chihuahua from a Great Dane) to seeing trends in a data stream, the human mind is particularly wired for pattern recognition.
For this reason some people hold the view that there is no such thing as genius, that each new discovery is simply the next logical extension of what has come before. You know, the intellectual version of "you didn't build that", or "there's nothing new about CrossFit." I think there's more to genius than that, though.
Pattern recognition is dependent on the point of view, literally, from which you gaze upon the pattern. An "E" looks entirely different if you look after rotating it 90 degrees away from you or 180 degrees clockwise, for example. Genius might be the ability to see something from a wholly different angle so that the pattern becomes evident; seeing the first "E" from the back side only and knowing it's an "E". How many times have you come across the output of someone's genius and just "gotten" it while simultaneously saying "I coulda/shoulda thought of that"? It really doesn't matter how prosaic or common (flush toilets--big fan of the inventor), or how poetic and earthshaking (predicting the Higgs Boson).
Genius really does exist, and the product of genius should be acknowledged as such.
I'll see you next week...

Worked at maybe 70 percent capacity on that last one because I've been fighting with a stomach virus for the past two days. Last round was by far the fastest (more than 30 seconds faster than any other round) because I felt good and really layed into it that round.
Done after doing power clean 1x7 and bench 5x5
